EXCITING DEATH FLOAT NEWS

Smoke & John will be renewing their vows on the death float. On the river. They will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and have asked me to recommit them. I know just the spot on the river that will be perfect.

What an honor. I wish more of you could come.

That is exciting news for the Sploofus community. Congrats to Smoke and John for their first 20 years together, and for a few decades more. Go for it!
Best wishes to and Eesus and all "death floaters" and hope you all have exciting fun days ahead.

Thanks, you guys! We've talked about doing it in our 20th year for ages (celebrated 20 in October). We once planned to do it in Scotland, but we can't afford that trip anymore, and we can't think of anywhere better than among our happily partying friends on the banks of Lodi's beautiful river. You bet there will be pictures!

I'm gonna go dig up wedding pictures right now and scan 'em in. We were married by a notary public in my apartment dining room.

Thank heaven we can now be joined by a member of the clergy.

Well Smoke and John -here's a suggestion to make this trip "sorta" like you had planned to do for your anniversary.
When it's time to exchange vows, John should don a kilt!
Bagpipe music would be nice too.

Have a great time

I can do bagpipe sounds on my Kazoo! I'd take along the bagpipes, but all of those things sticking out would probably sink us!

Gosh, you guys, I've been running all morning and hadn't seen all the lovely well-wishes. They are deeply appreciated by both of us.

Big John has been touched by his warm welcome and the kind regard of the islanders. He says he may not really be part of it all, but he gets it, and he's happy for me that I have so many wonderful caring friends around the world. He's met four of you so far (not counting family and pub people), and is about to meet a whole bunch more. He gets quite a kick out of the closeness that grows between virtual strangers on a computer screen, and he's pleased as punch to be along for the ride.

What a world, huh?

I love you people.

I got the white beer & some other local stuff for you all to try. Now I find out I have to smuggle it across the border. We're only allowed 1 litre of booze, what's up with that I get it coming from South to North, because it's cheaper but I'm not sure people smuggle Canuck booze the other way. Anywho, I think I can bring it if I pay duty on it. What a world, what a world

I still don't have a lot of people telling me what they want so it will be a potpourri on the float. Except for Marsha, who demanded champagne. Who knew she was such a diva. Maybe I can find her a tiara that won't pop the raft.

On the float, I'm getting deli sandwiches and packing them in water proof bags, fruit, chips & other snacks, all put in water proof bags. If everyone is nice, I'll bring some cougar gold cheese as well.

Randy, there's a big refrigerator in my & MB's room to put lots of other goodies, but other than a microwave, I'm not sure what we have to heat food, unless we have some microwavable dishes to heat the lasagna. I can probably bring some paper plates, etc., if we need it. I know we'll all be starving after we get off the river.

Yes, Lodi, I was planing to come by your house first, to drop off food. Weather isn't looking too good, so it may take us longer to get there. About 1ish, is my guess. If it's raining & cold is there a point in the float that I'll be able to get out. Big sissy that I am, my body can no longer take being cold for too long. Have 4 life-jackets.

I just spent a most enjoyable day and evening with Embee and Smoke. We have stayed up until 1:00 in the morning. I feel bad because of the traveling they've been doing but its so hard to go to bed since our time together is so short.

Tomorrow Randy arrives here and we are looking forward to seeing her and then caravaning down to Orofino to hook up with everyone else. Marsha will be the last to arrive, getting in late Friday night. I promised I would have champagne waiting for her.
