IDLE SUBTERFUGE

Ok, let's stop pussyfooting around and admit we're all curious and have been wondering about it: who thinks they know who the Editors are?

I like to think I have some guesses, but that's all they are - just guesses.

I have no idea and don't especially care either.
Does it matter who they are?

I know who they are, but I'm not telling!

I heard they aren't really human. They are clones and genetic mutations grown from samples of people kidnapped from trailer parks and isolated rural areas. Editing is part of their educational programming process in preparation for an eventual assault on Earth. But you didn't hear that from me.

*in robotic voice* I am Sploofus Maximus - Editor 5 of 20. Resistance is futile. Your punctuation and grammar will improve. Your bad spelling as you know it will cease to exist. Prepare to be assimilated.

How we do know you're not an editor, Jed? I bet you're just trying to cover your behind...

Hmm, not sure. But whoever wrote the "Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth" puzzle does not share my taste in desserts.

I don't think any of you actually exist, but are merely the creations of my delusional mind. Have to be controlled by my subconscious though, otherwise I would win at all the trivia games......or maybe I'm just a figment of someone elses imagination, a fragmentary element in the intellectual-psychosis of an inner struggle waged with words against unseen foes....is there anybody out there? Am I really here? Don't unthink me! WHOogie?

They are probably just inventions by Sploofus to blame things on....

OH NO...I knew it! This is terrible.....but then again, if I'm only a figment of someone elses imagination....then I'm not responsible for my actions..

I think Philkon's on to something: the editors are creations of Sploofus, who in truth is all of them. He is logged on 24/7 under various handles, eating diet pills by the handful, hasn't slept or washed in a year. Rumor has it that he has actually started assuming the physical traits of Frank Morgan, the guy who played the Wizard of Oz.

The truth is not meant to be known because most of us can't handle the truth.

After some sleep I have decided that maybe I do care who the editors are but ony a little bit.
Perhaps if they wore nice sparkly hats or wings they would be more appealing... but then again...

I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here: Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?

Who says we're not wearing sparkly hats? Anyway, this point is moot because we don't even know who each other are. We work in a big, sterile warehouse where each cubicle has a private entrance and we can't see over the top. Sometimes I hear voices...

I regret to inform you all that Sploofadelic is no longer with us. After peering out his cubicle (violation of editor code 76A) he was terminated.

*Off to campaign for better conditions for Editors*

Cake eating is vital for maintaining brain power so Sploofadelic should be reinstated!
The only food better for the brain is chocolate - I know cos my cat told me and he has been researching the matter for some considerable time.

It's not the conspicuous, omnipresent, vocal, personable, recognizable ones.
Geniuswaitress, for example, is most decidedly NOT a Sploofus editor, of that we can be certain.
Tell-tale signs will be: industriousness (quiz writing and taking) combined with constant online presence combined with feigned anonymity.
Main candidate for Sploofus himself: Goldtiger

Taking notes, crunching data, drawing charts ... trying to profile which TV/movie detective Jedley is... Sherlock? ... Columbo? ... Mike Hammer? ... Kojak? ... Cannon? ... Rockford? ... Magnum? ... Edd "Kookie" Byrnes? ... Leaning toward Ellery Queen. HEY! Who said Clouseau???

Baron you didn't catch the real ploy: I am not an editor, I am Geniuswaitress.
There, I've been wanting to get that off my chest.
Don't you feel dumb now?
