How many sploofus players are there about whom it could be said:

'No one who is playing the game for a shorter time than them (using the criterion of the sign-on day) has more points than them."

This TRULY trivial question occurred to me when I was wondering if it could be said about me. (It can)

Obviously the person with the most points can say it; the most recent joiner can say it; but how many other people could say it?
Twenty, fifty, a hundred, a thousand?

If someone with more time than sense wants to guess, or count, I'd like to know.
(Note -- you could 'cheat' by assuming that someone at level 40 joined more recently than someone at level 41...that would give a good approximation; on that basis on page one of the leader board would have 11 members; but since Zeedee is 'only' level 44 there can probably be only another 25 members of the club. That this is an approximation can be shown because Smoke would be a member by this calculation but in fact is a longer term member than me)

Since your level only goes up with TQOTD and today I lost 30,000,000 points on a wager I don't think you can assume that points and the level are going to be equivalent. If you use the wager tokens you can go up and down with amazing speed.
There will be Sploofusers who never wager, those who only wager on specific questions, and those who wager on anything.
I'm pretty sure I sunk way down my level today, but I coulda gone way up with all those points and passed some people at a higher level than me.

And I have a fairly high number of points (17,942,101) for someone at only level 9.5, but that's because I keep missing those darn TQOTHs. I wish I could opt out of the whole category!!

I'm not sure if you can make any sort of assumption
based on the numbers you're using. When we had
leaders by level I would generally measure my progress
against Revdodd. He joined five days before me, but
based on his totals he has been cranking out points
since the day he joined. I went the first six months
just doing quizzes and the TQotD. That's why we're
close on level but about 1.2 billion apart in points.

Thanks for noticing me, Barry!
I have been watching for some time for someone "newer" than me to pass me by.

I do miss the "Leaders by Level" leaderboard. That one was fun to watch and could give a little feeling of accomplishment even at the very lowest levels when new members might feel that they weren't seeing much progress when comparing their scores to "oldtimers."

I have actually thought about not taking all TQOTD just to keep my level number low because I did like have lots of points for my level. LOL. But luckily, I haven't seriously considered that because all the rest of you are still moving up. So I have gotten to be the lowest level person on the front page of the leaderboard ever since I arrived there. (.........Blowing my own horn while simultaneously patting myself on the back..........)

You can get a sense for what the rest of my life must be like if THIS is my big accomplishment.

I wasted a bit more time, inspiored by zeedee's comments and found a few more members of the group. In eighth place in the group is tresgatos who has a huge number of points for someone who joined this year in march. I went through ten pages looking for someone who had joined more recently than (s)he, and could not find it.
Based on that small sample I suspect we are looking at an 'elite' group of 15 members or so.

(Do I hear 'get a life'? I do.)

Barry, i won't say 'get a life'.. but honestly i wonder about you sometimes. your thought processes are amazing judging by some of the questions you have raised here in the past few months.
