Is she really gone? And how do folks feel about that?

Hope she's doing well wherever she is. Her absence has been noted. Rock on, Linda!

I don't like that she left. I saw how much she posted & how often she created quizzes and it looked to me like she didn't have anyone else to spend time with. So it didn't matter to me what the content of her posts were b/c I didn't think she should've been criticized for being negative repeatedly by people who repeatedly go to her threads knowing that is what will be posted by her. Linda spoke her mind but she wasn't a spring chicken or in tip top shape, even if I play on sploofus for the next 30 years chances are she would not be on this earth anymore - so why give her grief about bbs.
A stroke can be a devastating condition. Not only would she have to re-learn to do daily physical activities, there's a good chance that it affected the way her brain functions cognitively b/c of the lack of oxygen. Becoming more dependent on others can be very depressing for an independent person and that part of her life may have been why so much negativity was expressed in her posts.

I hope she gets another account with a different name, contributes quizzes, and keeps her identity away from everyone.

You may have seen me post this....but I do believe that all
the negativity recently has REALLY been about the HUGE
changes and difficulty of navigating the new site....

I'm sitting somewhere in the middle of the road on this
question....Heidi had a right to her opinions, and it's
unfortunate that she has had a stroke in the past....
However - if someone was harassing me with upsetting PMs
I too would just block her was done.
For her own reasons, Heidi chose later to publicly bad-mouth the
person she had been privately harassing....and then SHE decided
to leave the site.
It wasn't what WE saw of the exchange that matters, it's the effect
that it had on the recipient of Heidi's negative attention. I believe
that BOTH parties were very upset - for their own reasons - and it's
not for US to judge either of them.
Probably Heidi will come back when she feels you said,
she has a lot of herself invested in Sploofus, and it's not the first
time this situation has occured - no matter who the "other " party
happened to be, on either occasion.

Please folks....just let it be now - and see how it plays out....

Rowlanda.. very well said.. unless the full exchange of the story is fully public, no one but the (more than 2) parties knows what transpired. It IS a shame that Linda felt the need to leave rather than resolve the issues but that was her choice. I understand she had a stroke, and that is unfortunate, but that doesn't give her the right to publicly harass people. She was a very active, sharp witted, veteran and mostly entertaining member of this community - and I'm sure will be missed by most. However, I do think she will be back, hopefully rested and in better spirits.

Bunny, publicly repremanding those who may have played a part in her departure is in bad form, as far as I'm concerned. You are not privy to the private messages that were exchanged, only Linda's public, negative, misquoted and innaccurate responses to them. I can attest to this fact as I was one who tried to explain to her, privately and with respect, why people (myself included) were getting frustrated with her with respect to the multiple new threads complaining about the multiple other threads.
I understand you may have had a fond relationship with her but, you really don't know the full story. I don't know her in "real life" but I suspect she's not incompetent, judging from her posts and all the quizzes/contributions to this site.

I wish Linda all the best and hope she is happy, wherever she is.

It was all a sad situation. My personal opinion is that publicly rehashing what happened in this thread is neither productive nor appropriate. We've now got more people upset and accusative words going back and forth, and it's painful to watch. It doesn't need to be this way. Perhaps this thread can just fade away.

Share your opinions and speculation if you must, but some things just don't make logical sense, period.

My two cents.

I have corresponded with Linda via offsite email. i think she is doing okay although she is still angry and hurt.

She loves trivia and quiz writing, so i don't think she will stay away too long.

As someone noted in another thread.. these forums can be read by ANYONE whether they are logged on to sploofus or not. Please think about that as you post.

Wherever she is, she's probably complaining about it.

No cigar.... I never insinuated she was incompetent, nor would I even tell that to someone I didn't care for in a private setting. There's a much bigger picture from a psychological point of view that has absolutely nothing to do with competence or intelligence which is why I didn't use those words. I didn't get more specific because 1. I never intended to-chat wasn't the place to be so detailed and 2. frankly I did not have the time & that hasn't changed.

Felix - the s*** disturber

Bunny - obviously Heidi wasn't the only compulsive person here

Please....Let it go....she'll be back....
