Today I had a certain TQOTD that I have had TWICE before. I've been here a little more than a year. I thought there are something like 1,000,000 questions, so that getting the same one even twice in 450 days would be highly unlikely. (Or is that in the entire Sploofus system?)
Even being certain of the answer, and answering immediately, it took me 6.46 seconds (didn't seem that long), for 1,309 points. How do the TQOTD leaders AVERAGE 1,600 points per day?

Your last question is a good one, Anthony. I'm curious as well.

As far as getting the same question 3 times, that seems a bit odd.
I've had the same question as a TQotD and as a Showdown, but
have yet to have the same TQotD. I can remember this coming
up at least one other time and an editor was adamant that it
must have been a "similar" question with slightly different wording.
The Sploofuser involved was just as adamant that it was the exact
same question.

If you get an answer it will be something akin to, "Ghosts in the

when a QOTD is answered correctly the bonus points are awarded according to the rate for that level (although i haven't been able to find out what percentage is assigned to each level.)

i had also been told that you can't get the same question more than once. it was explained that there are many similar questions in the pool but a person would never get the same question twice. i know i got an identical question twice because a word within the question was misspelled in both instances. (i put in a support ticket and was assured the spelling has been corrected.)

Well, I can't say for certain that it was worded exactly the same each time, but, for all intents & purposes, it was. What I'm sure of is that, having learned the answer from the first asking (when I wasn't absolutely sure which choice was correct), I got it right the next two times without any thought at all -- just looking for & clicking on the answer I knew would be there.

I'd be happy to discuss it further with a Sploofus official.

Questions that have been written by editors are not supposed to be given to the author. Imagine my surprise when I got a question I had authored! I went straight to the Editor side and looked at the question I had written and realized that it was one word different, plus one distractor was different. But I was totally fooled into thinking I had been given my own question!

All I know is that Justin says the database is set to NOT give the same question to any person more than once; AND there are some incredibly similar questions in that database. So it really is just a huge coincidence if you get two questions that seem the same.

I can't say for sure if the issuing of Showdown questions has the same delimiter.

And FYI, we can only change the ones we wrote. No one can change the ones that were in the database from pre-Editor days.

Thanks for your response. Please note that, in this case, the coincidence applies to THREE occurrences of what is essentially the same question. Isn't a question number included, either with the question itself or with the answer? (I don't remember for sure, won't know until tomorrow morning!) I wish I had been keeping track of them, but now, of course, it will probably never happen again. Thanks again,

Hi, Bellavita,
You have probably run into the same issue I did recently: in the current version of Sploofus, you have to be a paying member to start a new topic in the forums (fora?). But many of the common topics are already addressed, if you look around. Try this one:
Community, then Chat Forums, then Newbies Corner. In Newbies Corner, there is a thread already there devoted to wager tokens. Good luck!

You get a wager token every time you reach a new level plus some bonus ones on your birthday. I think you are awarded some when you first start. If you go to MySploofus you should be able to find a place that explains this.
