After weeks of waiting to wager on a coveted vocabulary QOTD, i did not know the opposite meaning of the word in question. the result? "Your wager of 109,841,531 has been deducted from your Sploofus Points."

i dropped from level 69.2 back to 69.0 -- i think that hurts more than losing the All-Time points.

i hope your day starts off better!

I feel for you! I had that happen once (and with a much-desired vocab question, too). And even though I don't have anywhere near the points you do and I'm at a much lower level, I think the pain was pretty much the same. I dropped about six places in my category! Oh, the agony!!

If the loss of level points bothers you, do not answer the question until you reach the next full level. The question will remain available for 10 days.

Grrr! I LOATHE those "which is NOT" sort of questions and opposties. I blew 62 million on a Vocab question like that last winter.

I prefer to be quizzed on what I know, rather than what I don't.

Girl, you plan and wait and plan and wait........

and then get bit in the points just when you think yuo've got it worked out. A 100 mil here, a 100 mil there, and pretty soon it starts to feel like REAL points.

Well - you WILL work your way back. Thank GOD it wasn't money in Gateway stock! haha
Now go have some fun.

Just pretend that the points are currecy from Zimbabwe. 1,000,000 points equals 1. Not so painful, unless you live there.

I too lost a ton of points on an "opposite". I need to remember that it's not a showdown and take my time.

Yeah, it hurts but you'll probably win most of them back next time!

You could have lost that amount twice on a snooker question. It's the luck of the draw.

I actually like the vocab 'which one is not like the others' questions - I can usually work out which ones are synonyms and find the odd one out.

But I do feel for your loss - been there done that on points and level. It never feels good to drop like that.

Better luck next time.

OUCH! As for snooker, since I only wager on sports that infamous question is sure to appear one day.

I only wager on movies and tv and had a heart thumper the other day when I was asked the director of some obscure nazi propaganda movie. A billion points!! However, I took a wild guess and got lucky.

Congrats on your lucky guess, Leah!

I had *two* vocab questions in a row this week. (Sorry ... I must be getting all of them.) I bet the max on the first one and won a big pile of points. I bet the max on the next one and lost all of my points.

Especially, when you know you are right and have to take the word "Interpretation" as being a correct answer or category. I don't care what people say or think, I'll never change my mind on those two occasions. Whenever I have raised hell about questions or other disputes I have had, I have always checked with other players in the Top 50 for their opinions and they have sided with me. My renewal date is on the 18th of this month and I want to renew. If the guy who runs this pop-stand can prove he is alive and this thing won't shut down, my payment will be forthcoming.
