TG'S BOOK WP...

Dang tricky, but a lot of fun once it kicks in....which wasn't until the third puzzle for me.

Excellent, clever work!

Excellent puzzle.
I have one regret; my first answer showed a mistake and I puzzled over it for five extra guesses then retyped, and it was right. Cant work out if I'm blind, the machine stupid...or both.

I got through it - I understood and got all early on - but only understood one of the clues in relation to the actual answer - 3 hours of sleep might have played a part...you spent a LOT of time working those clues out - you got me

Tricky & slicky, I had to use Wiki. Loved it Geri BTW, I'm always slow but the timer on my puzzle was wrong today, it added a bunch of minutes. Like I needed help with that

Hi,
Sorry I had to use just "TG" for Tresgatos, but you're all such a resourceful bunch, I knew you'd figure it out.

Anyway, thanks very much for the compliments and feedback, I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzle! I was also glad to see that most of you kept most of your points. When writing this, I had thought of using the wacky author's name as the clue, but then I thought that might make it too easy. Have to keep you on your toes!

For those interested, here are all the clues/phrases:

1818's coolest creature? - frankenfridge by mary chilly
Lavish 1813 comedy? - pride and pretentious by jane ostentatious
Grand 1920 gabfest? - the age of eloquence by edith whartongue
Plain 1847 dingbat? - jane airhead by charlotte moronte
Scandalous 1722 floozy? - moll philanders by daniel dephony
Rollicking 1884 whopper? - adventures of huckleberry fin by shark twain
1932 summer escapism? - flight in august by william falconer
Best blather of 1859? - a tale of two biddies by chortles dickens
1895 hero to Fab Four? - who is jude the obscure by thomas jeopardy
Frontier fogies of 1913? - old pioneers by willa catheter

Thanks again!
-- Geri
