We have had several instances of players writing quizzes on specific topics because they saw the titles of upcoming tournaments. Then they expected (or hoped) that their quizzes would be added to the tournaments.

Please understand that by the time you see the title of the tournament, the list of quizzes is final. There may be another one on the same topic sometime later; for example you will currently see an Elvis Part One in the list. But, taking a current example, if you see an Italian food quiz, and you write a quiz on Italian food, it will not appear in that particular tournament.

The only exceptions to that are the tournaments which gather the Community Quizzes together. Those will always be announced in advance in Salty Dog, and then the newly launched quizzes will be gathered together in a tournament a few days later.

We hope that you are enjoying the tournaments. If you have suggestions for topics, feel free to post them here.

Woops - that should have been - if you see an Italian food tournament, and write a quiz on Italian food...

Bumping up to give folks another shot at suggesting topics for tournaments.

oops - see it's there - don't pay enough attention I guess

How about true sports (i.e. happenings at games - strange sports - amazing wins - that kind of thing - world records - all kinds of stuff could fit in that category)

Animal kingdom

Water - could be geography, sports, etc

World War II

Only Editors Awards

Also, can you add squares along with quizzes? That might be fun. But not Kerblunks; too easy.

Right now there is no way to score Trivia Squares for percent correct or time.

And Justin has asked us not to incorporate Kerblunks yet.

How about one on Elvis? Or maybe on Soap Operas? Old Radio shows? The list should be endless...

Vickie - Take a look. Elvis Part One is in the queue and will be making an appearance on Sept. 8th.

There have been several already that have interested me, but then I ended up not having time to participate. There are just so many fun things to do here!

How about one on stuff having to do with human anatomy and physiology? That might not be a huge crowd pleaser, but I'd enjoy it.

Anyway, it looks like the quiz tournaments have been a success, so great job!

I would enjoy that and hopefully not get an embarrasing score!

I'm sure Lodi would like one on food...any kinda food.

By the way, I have been extremely impressed with the caliber of the CQs. Obviously tremendous amounts of research and thought. Group hug!

How about a tournament related to prisons -- famous people imprisoned, famous prisons, and the like. Or maybe one on famous suicides.

Or another area might be to pay homage to the various home locales that come up under myriad topics....New York: New York on tv, New York in film, sports, famous New Yorkers, New York food, New York music settings, etc. Then of course you could do the other lesser lights of the galaxy like Chicago, Los Angeles, Texas, England, Ireland, Australia, Philadelphia and East Podunk.
