I found this yesterday and thought it good and relevant enough to actually add to my profile -
Frederick Buechner:
"Of the Seven Deadly Sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savor to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back -- in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you."

And sometimes....
Anger is the first warning we
have that something is wrong
It's there for a purpose....

You should've been with me this morning when a customer of mine tried to con me out of $68.00. Anyone need some printed envelopes for a music school. My way of controlling anger in public is biting my tongue, I look like Robert DeNiro. Just checking if you're alert today.

Anyone can become angry. That is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way .... that is not easy.

Actually, I think you just described Easy.

I think the most important thing is to deal with immediately (or at least right after you have calmed down enough not to cause permanent damage). To of Jim's best friends got in a spat (after 25 years of friendship) and didn't deal with. Now they can't figure out how to fix it and may never have a relationship again. Sad.
