SPLOOFUS SUPPORT TICKETS - BACKLOG

Hey all!

I am proud to say that I have caught up to all support tickets submitted prior to January 11th. It will be several days yet before I am able to catch up to the current date.

However, at that point, I have implemented a new system that will guarantee a 3-5 day response time as well as allow you to delete old resolved tickets.

Apologies for the delays.

Presumably you have another backlog now I have one that is now 11 days old.

BY the way I hope you read this, Justin, I sent one today (22nd of August), and I am hopefull of a response to it.
I was going to ask in here but thought it would be best to send it to player support.

I know he does it single handidly although I reckon he must have at least 20 arms to be able to continually improve this place in the way he does.

I'm not to bothered about when the tickets get sorted out really because I know they will.

I ALWAYS get support in a timely manner. Sure it is not at that very instant. (sometimes it really is right away) Please consider this:
How long do you wait for a seat at a good restaurant
How long does it take you at the DMV
How long does it take in the emergency room
How long does it take for your children to come when you call them
How long does it take you to return a phone call
Should I go on?
From the first time I got here I have received love and support and just plain old good clean fun. As a matter of fact, I don't bother my husband when he watches sports games etc. on the television anymore. I don't even want to think what I would do without you guys

In my eyes you guys are great! and I have upgraded.

I urge my fellow Sploofusters to go to SploofTalk. I just sit there waiting for you all to say something, anything. You can start out like me, by just saying "Hi all.

By the way how long did it take you to read my posting?

I think maybe a point has got lost somewhere, does it not say that a new thing has been implemented that says there would be a response rate of between 3 -5 days. Well if that is guaranteed how come some have not been resolved months later. Thats was all I was saying. And it is not a complaint.

Oh and if you are in a restaurant and you are told that you will have to wait for 10 minutes for a table but you dont yet have a table after an hour, you are not going to be happy about it. lol

I'm doing my best, all by my lonesome, managing over 14,000 players, their wants, their needs, their suggestions, hate mail, love mail and everything in between.

The only thing I can or will guarantee is that I'm gunna continue to do my best. There are hundreds of social, editorial, technological and logistical issues to be dealt with each and every day. It's a good thing I enjoy every moment of it.

Justin, all I can say is it is obvious that the job you do must be extremely hard as keeping as many people happy as possible can be a thankless task. But I think I speak for the vast majority of people who are members when I say that ALL of the effort you put in is very very much appreciated.

I agree with Baggiob's sentimemts, above. I think, though, that after getting burned badly by a "Trivia Question of the Day" timeout, that something needs to be done to allow those points lost to be reclaimed. My loss of some 886,000 points on a wager really hurt, left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, and pretty much negated the many hours of fun I've had at this site EARNING those points. I DO wish this would be addressed. In any case, Justin, many thanks for your efforts!

Justin...

Does your post, above, mean that I will be "reimbursed" the points that I lost due to the time out error? THAT is really my issue. While we enjoy ourselves at this site, we also work hard, and spend many hours, earning those points. To lose 25% of earned points, NOT because we don't know the answer, but because of a documented system flaw, is rather unfair and is what, in my view, needs correcting! Thanks.

I tried to put in a support ticket but it bounced back to my email. Here is a copy of the email, which includes the info from the support ticket. I don't know what else to do but post it here.

I'm not sure where the support ticket is, so I'm putting my problem here. While doing the word puzzle today (Super Bowl), on the last one I got a pop-up, which I shouldn't be getting. Then all I had on the screen was that, the letters I didn't use, the clue, and the bar to fill it in. I tried to backspace, but all it did was add points (frown) to my score. When I first tried to come in here, it said unable to view message. This is definately a new problem! Thanks for anything you can do, and by the way, I didn't recieve any points for the puzzle at all. Teresa

I experience in-and out problems. Just a short time ago sent a support ticket-for a brief time-could not do that either. For about an hour could not do wordmatches or rounds or others quizzes-always said I had submitted answers to a round that had expired-currently all seems to be ok-keep my fingers crossed- Linda

For anyone who is not aware, the editors (volunteers) are now handling support tickets. Most are answered within a few hours. Issues that only Justin can deal with have the tickets "escalated" to his attention.

As to the hiring of an assistant...there is simply not enough income. Any ideas on how we can get more folks to pay for their memberships here would be welcome!

Great idea.. but I'd go even further... classmates.com and others give you a week to get you hooked, then charge your credit card or other payment method at the end of the week

Sploofus is ready for a price increase. I think something like the following:

Platinum: Give priority to getting quizzes launched and add 10%
Gold: Give 20 WordRounds and add 20%
Freebies: Let the free time last for one month and then charge $5 per 6 months.

The later is a change in philosphy well worth the vision. There is a price quality syndrome and moreover, the damn pop-ups for the freebies are so irritating that it is a blessing to be be allowed to pay a token.

Personally, I think the $5 is too small but I doubt if you would get maximum revenue with much more. $5 times the 20,000 that bite (some won't) is $200,000 for the year, enough for a slight chamce for Justin to concentrate on developing business. It seems to me that just when the 'new system' is coming on line, is when this guy or gal could take a lot of load, be very valuable and have a part time helper or apprentice in training for back-up.

I have known many successful businessmen who did not have enough time to interview for help. Allena

I for one love Allena's idea. I would'nt mind paying more to get more tries. My budget is not up there with Platinum but as a Gold member I would hang in there with an increase.

What hooked me on getting a gold membership was doing the Word Puzzles. About a month after I was a regular (non-paying) member, I was able to do WPs for 1 week just like the paying members...that hooked me. I like the idea of giving at least a week of Gold level amenities, perhaps for a week after a few weeks of regular membership.

Just to throw in my 2 cents worth--I think emphasis should be on ways to draw in a greater number of paying customers, not to raise the current rates. (I for one would not be willing pay for more word rounds.) Perhaps there is something in Beta that would make me willing to cough up a bit more, but we'll have to wait and see on that one. As someone above said, it was the chance to do more word puzzles that drew me in. That one-week wait for the next puzzle seemed SO long.

If the rate had been higher, though, I would not have felt able to join. It was the low rate that was the clincher for me. I think maybe a free trial period would be the best idea. Once you get used to the privileges of paying(more word puzzles, posting to BBS, shouts), it would be very hard to go back to free membership.

I agree with zeedee, additional word rounds is not the answer (I don't usually use more than a few of the 10 I now have, so 20 isn't going to help). We need more paying players. I payed to get access to the word puzzles more frequently than once a week (that is a looong time to wait!). If you let the nonpaying players have a short taste of the goodies they would get when they payed, I think more of them will be willing to do so. It is very easy to get addicted to this site. And like all addicts, you crave more not less.

I still think, and am of the opinion that free tasters of the 'good life' wouldn't go amiss. Perhaps a free month long gold membership to players who express an interest.

Also, I reckon trying to get Sploofus in the news more may help bring more people in.

Going through the members list, I can't believe how many people have been playing for free, for so long. It's very nice of Justin, but at some point, if you really enjoy this site. Start paying.
Just a thought.
