FOUND THIS GREAT ICE CREAM

I went shopping yesterday and came home with the best ice cream I have tasted in a long while. The bad part is that I should have bought more than one cause it is all gone already.

Here is a link:

My kind of person...definitely qualifies you as a "foodie"....pray tell Barb, if you dare, the size of the container?

On a summer drive through Vermont, we stopped at the Ben and Jerry's factory for the tour. The "flavor of the day" happened to be Cinnamon Buns. It is a flavor that I would never, ever have tried if it hadn't been the freebie at the end of the tour -- and now, it is my favorite. The official description is "Caramel Ice Cream with Cinnamon Bun Dough & a Caramel Streusel Swirl." The cinnamon flavor is mild -- not at all overpowering as I had . It has become my ice cream of choice for serving with apple pie. Mmmm.....

Unfortunately it only comes in the pint size but that only means I get to buy a few and hide them in the chest freezer in the basement.

Barb: YES...I did have some of that...seems like it was last year, maybe? OMG was it good. It was actually the signature dessert for some restaurant and won a contest they were having.

Okay...so I bit! Here's the scoop (really a pun was not intended!) on Barb's link and Robin's input about a contest....

The link takes you to a most scrumptious looking bowl of caramelized pear & toasted pecan ice cream! It was in fact a contest winner last year...details are:

2007 Häagen-Dazs flavor search winner - Leslie Zoerb's flavor creation, selected from thousands of entries, mingles juicy caramelized pears with pieces of toasted pecans in a crisp pear ice cream base. congrats, Leslie! thanks for making the world a little bit sweeter. Find Leslie's creation in supermarkets and Häagen-Dazs® Shops now.

I have gone to ice creameries that offer a multitude of flavors....and always pick Rum'n'Raisin.
However, if I decide to be adventurous and have a different flavor......I will eat it, wishing it was Rum'n'Raisin....!!
Go figure??

I usually choose anything that has a lot of caramel. I'm not much for a 'single flavor' ice cream and I always like it to have lots of 'stuff'! But...every now and again I'll choose a coconut gelato and just savor the smoothness of it.

Does anyone remember the Matador at Baskin-Robbins?

it was 7 scoops of ice cream in any combo of their flavors.. my choice? 7 scoops of pure Jamocha

(sorry Taco, i just don't want nuts or fudge messing up my Jamocha.)

That was my treat when i was in college in the late '70's.

Not only do I remember the Matador, but I also remember the Super Heater. Lordy, I could make myself nearly ill from those concoctions.

Loved it when I was young and thin.

Good news...well, of sorts... I am unable to find the HaagenDaaz flavor Barb linked her message to...so I emailed the company about availability in the Saint Louis area. Received a very nice hard copy letter of "thanks for your interest" and two fifty-cent coupons good towards any size container or boxed bars! I have only commented to a company once before and that was about the "Mr. Clean" scrub sponge. (OMG...it works miracles.) I said how much I liked the product and inturn, received an envelope with $10.00 worth of coupons towards any cleaning products!
