This was a fun puzzle to do. The whole time I was singing a song by The Partridge Family in my head though

Great puzzle Rev and excellent clues thanks.

So sorry about your work problems though....
I know what to do if it's an individual being laid
off, but not if it's a whole crowd of people....

I wish you Luck and Happiness in the Future.
Freedom has it's value too....think of yourself
as a Millionaire who can now do whatever he
wants....but on a smaller scale....
That's what I did in the same circumstances
and then chose Sploofus!!!!

I really enjoyed your WP, Rev -- it definitely made me feel happy! Very interesting assortment of "happy" facts. I wasn't aware, for example, that Denmark was recently named the happiest country on Earth. Also, great clues!

When I saw the title I starting singing the Partridge Family theme song - was thinking wow I'll hit a 5 with my useless David Cassidy trivia floating around in my head! Should have known better - except for the fact that I persisted in putting in the appropriate contractions - I enjoyed this (but the contractions were my fault - duh)
