This is one of my all time favorite "KISS" recipes -
"K"eeping "I"t "S"imple but "S"ensational

I like this not just because it is a favorite KISS recipe, but it is very basic with lots of room to add your own flair...and only requires you have two items on hand! Plus, name the recipe whatever you care to...because it will be your own creation.

Essentials -
Refrigerated pie crust
Favorite preserve

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Roll one piecrust into a square.
Spread with 1/4 cup favorite preserve, jam or marmalade evenly over the piecrust. (Add crushed walnuts, cut dried fruit, etc. if desired)

Roll dough up into the shape of a log. (Might take some practice to find the right pressure to exert)
Cut into rounds of desired thickness. (Bake time may need adjusting if not 1/4"

Place on parchment lined cookie sheet.
Press down and out slightly with botton of glass, lightly dipped in flour.

Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

Now, give your creation a name Ta Da!

Ok, you got me there. This sounds scrumptious.

I am going for it.....

This is a traditional family favorite from yesteryear! The recipe has been scaled down from the original, full-sized bundt pan size to a 5x7 loaf pan. Great for singles and small households! As the old saying goes - "I like seafood...I see it, I eat it!" With a smaller version such as this recipe makes, there is less to "see" therefore, less to "eat"!

Preheat oven to 350 (countertop/toaster oven is perfect for this size recipe)
Prepare 5x7 loaf pan as you prefer...well buttered is the best!

You will need -

1 tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (regular or "grands") "Grands produce a "taller" result.
1/3 C sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 C finely chopped pecans (any nutmeat you prefer works)
2/3 stick unsalted butter, melted
2 Tbsp brown sugar (dark is preferred, but again, your choice)

Remove biscuits from package and separate.
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.

Combine sugar, cinnamon, and pecans in a small bowl.
Dip each biscuit piece into the melted butter, then into the sugar/cinnamon/pecan mixture.
Drop coated biscuit pieces into a well buttered loaf pan.

Put leftover sugar mixture, leftover butter, and the brown sugar in a small saucepan over low heat.
Bring just to a boil; remove from heat immediately.
Drizzle over roll pieces.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.

After resting for a couple of minutes...the bread, not you...turn pan over and the bread will slip right out.
While the bread is resting, you may want to brew coffee or pour a large glass of icy cold milk...

We don't get those cans of biscuits in Oz.

I am hoping that when we get Costco here, that they will stock 'em.

I think they're great! In fact, I am gonna start another thread on that very topic.
