Thought I would note the last dates and rsponses to the other forums as was told by an editor that new flolks would larn "proper" etiquette over time on appropriate places to put gtheir posts...

Hotwire 8/14 8/20
Trivial Tangents 8/10 8/24
Ask the Audience 8/18 8/23
Quiz Requests 11/16 (Justin) 8/23

Is it that much of a big deal?

No, I guess it is not any "Big Deal" but very misleading to anyone new looking over the site and tryng to follow the guidelines for each forum-know Justin is going through some difficult times and respect his good sense in not sharing the "intimate" details although we all seem to thrive on that. Just would seem to make ore sense to have a forum for puzzles and the add a number and the neverending activities. Do the puzzles for the most part-my mind does not functiion along mathematicl lines so too dense to participate in those. Also some people rally seem to enjoy the "neverendings" so not knocking any of them. If the forums are truly for oraganiztional puposes as I have been told then believe there is more truthful way of organizing or be honest and say there is no order-folks soon larn that anyway- Linda

I like the feature that posts the latest comments, I think it works very well for sorting out comments.

I agree that is a nice feature. It still does not explain away the fact that the other forums seem to be there only for "show'-window dressing if you will-Justin and the other "powers that be" do post on Hotwire and believe they should have a forum for this official use. Howver, many people-admitted by one popular player recently NEVER look at Hotwire. Justin has at times posted on "Salty Dog" to call attention to Hotwire announcements. Fine with me if people want only one forum but PLEASE call it like it is-Linda

Why?

Yes, but thats exactly why the latest post feature, solves that.
If this is the biggest concern, that is further proof this is a very well done site.

Why what?-list forums that are seldom if ever used?-obviously I like it here or would not have returned so many times-have nothing but admiration for Justin. If you say so it is so just like the "wee" people in folklore!!! I just cannot ignore something that is so blatantly obvious-Linda

I have other concerns but Justin is a human being going through a difficult spell so will not voice nor whine about them at this point-will let it go by saying Felix and I are in agreement on some issues if you get my point. Have given up trying to get people to like or agree with what I say-Linda

Well if this is high on your list of concerns, you have a good life.

Why do you need others to agree with you? Sometimes I have liked what you have said, Linda, and echoed your thoughts, words, etc. Sometimes I've thought you took things too far. I know not every one is going to agree with my opinion and I will respect any one else's opinion that isn't shoved down my throat. What I would love to see here on Sploofus is a group of adults who come here to get some stress relief, play some games, challenge their minds, and even make some friend connections - what I'd like to see is how these people (us) can get along and not get bogged down in some petty b.s. that will divide rather than bring a group of what I call fascinating people together. But hey, that is only my opinion.

Karen

And, Linda, I am glad you are back - just try to enjoy it!

ty I do enjoy it here. I have few people that I call "friend" as I do in real life. Many things seem"petty" to me like strict rules for writing Kerblunk geezzz. Who cares if they turn out to bed FITB?-never wrote either but have enjoyed both. Now that we are talking about "petty"-does it bother anyone else that the "Support Team" (players in their not-so veiled disguises") often use the royal "WE" to reply?? You are correct it is just a game and we are all supposed to be adults here and should not take anything here as life and death-Linda

Hi, Linda, I hope you write more of your quizzes. I really enjoyed them and miss taking them.

To go back to your original idea, I like the Salty Dog, but lately I've been visiting the Trivial Tangents thread to check up on threads created by Tresgatos to follow the photos and links on the Who and Where the Heck Am I. I can spend lots of time searching for those, and I'm interested in where people find them, how they find them and more information about a person or place I didn't know anything about.

I used to read the Newbie's Thread when I was a newbie, but your post reminds me I need to check it more often to see if I can help a new Sploofuser. I also used to check out the Hit List because I discovered quizzes there I hadn't noticed before. The WTHAI occupies a lot of my Sploof time, so I don't take as many quizzes as I used to.

Separating these three kinds of themes help me find the threads faster than if they were on one thread (like I will see the latest date on Hotwire to see if there are any recent Sploof announcements.)

I don't check out Ask the Audience or Quiz Requests, but there must be others that like it, because there are posts there.

There isn't any policing of making sure a thread ends up in the right Chat Forum (not that I can tell, anyway), so I think the members just use their judgment on where they think their threads should go.

The communication thing I wish were more active are the group discussions. Maybe I just belong to groups that aren't very chatty.

It's a job- but I try to peruse the other threads to stay in the Sploofus loop.

Still, Salty Dog is where most players check for the latest gossip; news; comradery; whine and cheeses.

But Caramel1/ Linda makes a good point- some posts probably should be started elsewhere- so maybe a "low salt" diet should be considered.
