Just heard this;

What a sense of morality!

John Edwards has been banned from making a speech at the Democratic convention for having an affair and lying about it.

In his place Bill Clinton will be speaking.

Republicans need a "back at ya" by having David Vitter as their keynote....too funny.

Don: what is your new avatar? I'm too blind to see it!

Time out Don !!! America knew what they were getting before Bubba got elected in '92. Everyone (including HRC) knew he was a skirt chaser and that he had a past. John Edwards came up with this family values stuff and he does have a dying wife.
I still think Monica Lewinsky was a Republican bimbo that set him up. I don't doubt that Bubba is scoring more than the New England Patriots ' til this day. He is not a hyprocrite.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I kinda liked 'Ol Bubba. Always had a feeling that Edwards was phony though.
I'm totally non-partisan when it comes to political humor.

Bbear, that Avatar is the "Ol Curmudgeon", my own self.

McCain dumped a sick and injured wife and married his mistress -- could someone please ban him from speaking at the convention?

What would our nation [or others in the world] be like if major politicians didn't have sex drives or huge egos?
No need to respond- it's rhetorical.

It still comes down to enacting sound public policy. That's why we have elections.

Let's celebrate "democracy" and pay attention to the upcoming speeches at the national conventions and then choose wisely.

Your view of the election
Is a question of perception
Perhaps a selection
of the least offensive imperfection.

Study a cross section
Practice introspection
Check your sense of direction
And the angle of reflection
Before making your selection.

We want a candidate to strive for perfection
With circumspection
Good inflexion
A sense of direction
(And a clear complexion?)
Offering protection
And willing to make any necessary corrections .

(I’d have no objection
a good rhythm section
or a nice coin collection.)

I don’t want
Or a fungal infection.
(Just take the injection!)

I’d like to feel a sense of protection
Mutual affection
And interconnection.

But there’s not much of an intersection
Between election
And perfection.

Send that poem to Mark Russell; have him put it to music and play it on his PBS show! Fantastic!
