In one post I was told if that --the posting on proper thread thing-was my biggest problem that I must have a good life-guess I do. I know at times I seem to come unglued over issues. Believe it is because here there are things I think I can perhaps improve or make different-probably not. I have tried to apologize to some that I really went off on. Jorboo, I have not yet had a child die-one stillborn but not the same thing as they had no personality yet. I have been married three times. Mentioned in another thread that one husband died-ot quite true. He committted suicide because he had had one testicle removed because of testicular cancer-autopsy showed that the cancer was gone but he did not believe the doctors and his "manhood" was threatened-went through the "what ifs" and "if onlies" for years over that. I have been divorced twice with all of the accompanying details such as cheated on and knocked around enough to be hospitalized. I worked at a job al my life which did not involve physical labor but was seldom appreciated. Mean no offense to anyone here but was passed over for jobs like dept. head simply because I was white in a black school system-what goes around comes around, I guess. I have had a stroke making my right hand all but useless and am on oxygen all the time because of my many years of smoking and the disease it caused-life is about choices-won't lecture to anyone as it did no good with me. My best friend-get to be fewer of them the more I age-was just diagnosed with ALS. Since no prior desires were made known was put on a respirator where could be kept aive-if that is living-for years. I do have a good life, howevere. Came back from the grocery store this morning and a very sweet young woman pulled into my driveway and carried my groceries into the housep--had a bunch because don't like to venture ut on holiday weekends.-I do have a good life with my "critters" and knowing kindness exists in the world-even in Florida lol-Linda

Wow, Linda. ((()))

I knew you must have a helluva story, lady, and I always felt we had a lot in common and we surely do. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us, I admire your guts and your honesty and I'm very glad to have the chance to know you a little better.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend with ALS. One of my many cousins (much older than I am) had ALS. It got to the point where all she could do was blink her eyes to communicate. Once for "yes," two for "no." She spelled out words that way. We'd start at the beginning of the alphabet and ask if there was an "A" in a word, and so on. It was laborious, but of course it meant a lot to her to be able to ask us questions. Her misery finally ended about 10 years ago.

I think I understand that since Sploofus is a big part of your life that many things here are important to you that might seem less so to someone else.

I'm glad you got some help with your groceries. Have a great day!

Well my friend we all go through trials and bad things happen to all of us, but it makes us who we are and my friend you are one heck of a great person, so from this old dog to another old dog just hop off that porch once in a while and let the young pups know they are not always as in control as they think they are, because they still hve a lot of life to live. Take care you old dog. your friend charlotte

Oh Linda, my heart bleeds for you. I am wondering if there is a learning in retirement program at the college where you live. That would get you in touch with interesting old codgers like me. Our program is starting up next week for the fall semester and we have two classes every single day, no homework or tests. Learn for the joy of it and make new friends.

I send you good vibes to try something new and fun . . . I have just discovered the ukulele!

Good luck!
