MOST OFT TAKEN QUIZ CONTEST

I am so tickled that my quiz "What the Heck is This Movie" did so well...it hit the Top 10 early and stayed for a long time. It now has had 1180 takers! But we have over 9000 players here in Sploofusland!

This made me wonder what is/who has written the MOST OFTEN TAKEN quiz on this site? And how many takers has it had?

So place your guesses here...or tell us if you have had a quiz that beats 1180 takers!

Which quiz? What author? How many takers?

I'm guessing it'll be a geniuswaitress quiz!

My biggest hit was Ok, Who's Gay?, with 970 takers, then there's a bunch in the 800s. You win!
ps my bet is that the biggest ever is gonna be a fast food candy bar favorite color type quiz.

I hate to even think it, but I'd wager that the most-taken quiz is a "Name the Green Vegetable" one.

My quizzes have done well-- most have broken the 100 mark, but even my Top Ten ones never made it close to yours, Suzer. My "Forensic Science-- the Basics" has over 500 takers and my Editor's Award "The Paul is Dead Hoax: For Beatles Fans" only had 105 takers. I guess we don't have as many Beatles fans as I would like on Sploofus.

Congrats to all the excellent quiz writers who have had successes! Keep the quality quizzes coming.

Approcimatly how long does a quiz take to get into the hundreds? I have only been writing quizzes for a short while and have 8 now active.
Getting an Editors Award helped Maine Coon Cats overtake my other quizzes but not by very many. Having said that it has only been active a few days so maybe it will get into the hundreds eventually.

Wow! I am so impressed by your numbers. My biggest hitter is sitting at 102 (I Can't Believe I ate the Whole Thing). But I have very high hopes for one of my current quizzes (Sitcom Characters We Never See) - it is climbing very quickly. I cannot imagine breaking 1000!

Ever since I started creating quizzes a few months ago, I'd been wondering how many takers it took to make the top 10. I even started experimenting with my quiz content to see what kinds of titles and topics would be the most popular.

Needless to say, I was shocked that a quiz I created on a whim and thought no one would bother taking ("Help This Sweet Dad Shop for His Teenage Daughter) ended up making the list. But I've never had anywhere near 1,000 hits.

The most interesting aspect of this whole thing is that you can never tell what's going to draw people in (except for fast food, candy and colors, which Jedley so astutely pointed out).

The topic is one factor, but it makes a huge difference how long the quiz stays on the first page. If there are a whole bunch of other quizzes launched in the same category right after your greatest quiz, it certainly won't be seen by very many people.

Another factor is surely the difficulty rating. Folks'll happily open a quiz if they like the sound of it, but as soon as they see more than 3 stars they high-tail it outta there.

The second quiz I ever wrote took over 8 months to get to 100 takers ("Whose Line is it Anyway"), but the two I've had make it into the Top 10 hit 100 within the first two weeks...and I have no idea why either one caught on. I agree with the fact that it needs to sit on the main page for a while

So Kimmie is winning with 1200+. I wonder how long it will take (and how many Sploofusers we will have) when someone hits 2000!

BTW Jedley, I think "a bunch in the 800's" beats out my one 1180! My next highest is about 490 and then I have a handfull between 100 and 150.

My LOWEST number of takers would be "Power, Symbol, and Excess: The History of Ceremonial Dress". My fault for making it sound like a dissertation. Now, if I'd called it "Wacky Stuff People Wore Back in the Day"...through da roof.

Oh, now, if you want to have a contest for the LOWEST number of takers, I definitely win!! LOL I have "Masterpiece Theatre" been live since the end of November with 4 takers, and "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" - about the same amount of time - with 6 takers. Can't beat that!

You also can't beat the amount of snow that I am getting this morning. As soon as it gets light, gotta start the first round of shoveling. Anyone want to come play?

Sorry Alice - I can beat those low scores by one note!

Even though I seem to be in 2nd place for MOST takers...My quiz "Nashville: The Robert Altman Film" only has 3 takers; also only 3 takers for "Jasper Fforde and Thursday Next". Now these are both very obscure works so I didn't expect many takers, but my quiz on "The Love Bug" only has 5!

Herbie, the Love Bug? Everybody should know these Disney Films! What's up with that?? I chalk that one up to getting bumped off the front page of the Movie list so fast! Maybe I should move it to Kids Only! LOL

Bigbird, I just took your Masterpiece Theatre quiz. Nice to come in second, but there wasn't a lot of competition. How about some more people come on over and try to blow me off of there?

Geniuswaitress, is it wrong that I prefer the second title of your quiz? What does that say about me?

Going to try it out now.

OK, I'm at 1213 with my 'do you speak english, or american?' quiz...part I. Parts II and III aren't near that, yet.

Am I the winner?

I just can't believe, with over 9000 players, that the highest number is only 1200! Hmmmmm...

Are there people here who don't take quizzes but just do the Puzzle, Word Rounds and TQOTD??

My highest number of takers is 975.
And yes suzer22, I know of a lot of people who just come for the WP, TQOTD and Word Rounds. I myself have taken a break from creating quizzes because I grew tired of the negative comments.

I guess my quizzes just don't rate on either scale- My lowest is 8 (pretty hard Bruce Lee quiz) and highest is 158 (HBP quiz). Even the "easy" green food quiz was not that popular, many takers finding it harder than they thought it would be. And my favorite quizzes only got moderate repsonses...

Oh well, everyone can't write wonderful quizzes like Geniuswaitress, Tuzilla, Jedley....and others who I take whenever they post a new one! So thank you to those of you who write great quizzes, can't wait for more!

My most taken quiz is my "Name That Show (80s)" with 1023 takers. It made it to the top 10 list with about 110 takers and took off from there.

Sorry Kimmie - it wasn't really a REAL contest...that was just my little hook to pull people in to this thread.

But you have my admiration...and a lot of publicity! Is that enough?

Are You Good In Bed? 1281 8.55 97,326

That's the current set of stats for my "Are You Good In Bed Quiz". 1281 contestants - 8.55 rating - 97,326 points.

But here's what I don't get ... It's still #1 and my "Classic Lies" quiz is at #6 ... even though, by my calculations, my "Men Are Pigs" quiz has outscored both since I posted it.

Maybe they have to be up for a certain amount of days before being considered?

I mentioned this in another post ... what kills me is that my #1 quiz is nowhere near my best. Take my last 5-6 quizzes and tell me where you think it ranks. it may be more humorous, but I think most of my recent one are better written, more challenging, and more fun.

I also think that 3 of my last 4 were more deserving of an EA than the bed quiz.

Do you think it has to do with the fact that I forgot to wax the editor's car again?
