I just found out this morning that one of the greatest guitar pickers and Nashville songwriters passed away on Monday...Jerry Reed. I met him back in the 80's when I was living in Marietta Georgia. He was one of the nicest people I ever met. My thoughts and prayers are with his family...God must have needed another guitar picker for his heavenly band. Mr. Reed you will be missed!

Jerry Reed, and now Don LaFontaine, voice of movie trailers.

A sad week for the performing arts world.

I heard that Jerry Reed had died. He wasn't that old. The music business has lost a great musician.

I had not heard of Don LaFontaine - although I now know I had hard his voice many times - and when they showed the insurance commercial I recognized him from that then.

They were masters at what they did; they will be missed.

I 've been a Jerry Reed fan for many years. He was an affable comedic actor and performed some great songs.

The only radio request I ever called in to the Dr. Demento show was Jerry's anti-smoking ditty called "Another Puff."

He'll be missed.

Will we be able to live 'In a world where Don Fontaine is no longer around'?
