Hi All,

Just wondering if it's possible to get a monitor big enough to show all the WR answers on the one screen. My current one shows all the WM on the one screen but I have to scroll down to finish the WR

If this don't help you let me know!

I think you meant trying to get all of the wordrounds on one screen to be viewed at once like the Wordmatches. I use the F11 key on the keyboard to make the screen full screen and larger, but if there is anything else, I don't know about it. Mitchy's post about the font size is great, and if you decreased the size of the fonts, it may make the screen a little larger, but I have to have mine large enough to read, so that is not an option for me.

If anyone else knows, maybe they will post it here, but I think it's just the way they are set up, and don't know of any way to view all 10 of them at once.

I've been in newspaper offices that have vertical screens
(can see a whole newspaper page at once), but I would
guess they're expensive.

I also used to own a monitor that would swivel from
vertical to horizontal. That would be ideal for Word Rounds
but I don't think anyone makes such a thing any more.

I used a 19 inch iMac over the summer, and with the font
as small as possible and still readable I only had to page
down once.

Re Foogs' comment. I do have a monitor that will turn to portrait as opposed to landscape view - a Hewlett Packard 22" HP2207 which then went to HP2207h. I remember looking at a WR when I first got it and decided it didn't really help but I've just tried again now. In portrait view it will let me get all bar the last WR question on 1 screen, whereas in landscape it is generally 5 questions. I suppose if you reduced the size of the font slightly from normal, then you would see the full WR. I guess once you got used to it, it may be quicker, but I found I was a bit slower reading a full length screen.
I can highly recommend the monitor though - fully adjustable height and angle and the 90 degree rotation would be great if you do a lot of work with photos.

I would like to know (as a person who only plays the WordRounds/WordMatches occasionally) how people manage to answer the questions in under 15 seconds.
How is that possible, I can't even read them all in that time let alone answer the questions...?

LOL, the people that get fast times are just REALLY good at the puzzles, it is impossible to cheat at WR/WM's even though I know, it seems impossible to get them that fast!
Here are some tips to speed up your times
Hit enter button at end instead of clicking on with mouse -- can shave off a second doing that!
Scan the puzzles, rather than reading each word - takes a little practice but you will get hang of it
Go with what jumps out at you --
Try all that and see how you do

Just an FYI - and maybe it's just me - but hitting ENTER at the end of a WP/WR does not work for me on my Mac. I have to click on it.

I just found out the "Post Message" button here doesn't work by pressing ENTER either!

Pennwoman is right, those scores are legit. I didn't believe it at first, either, but Martina posted those tips and my scores are down under 30 seconds on a fairly regular basis. I've only hit the teens once but I can see how it is possible now.

Here's a questions for all: I'd like to know what my average time and/or rank is for WR and WM. Is this something I can find or would I have to calculate it myself?

Using the tab and arrow buttons will also speed things up. It takes practice but does help

That's something you'll have to do for yourself. All that's
available to all is monthly standings. Copy and paste
your results, then get out a calculator. Keep the messages
that tell you your finish.

I kept track of every wr/wm game I played for a couple
of months in the spring to see if I could figure out how
often a nugget or diamond screen would come up and
whether it was related in any way to scores or number
of games played. I concluded they're random.

Woo hoo!

Re: Getting more of WR/WM to display on the screen.

In My Spoofus -> Preferences -> Site Settings, under Display/Accessibility, I set my Page Width for "Wide Screen (1000 pixels wide)" rather than Standard screen, even though my PC has a standard screen. This makes my Sploofus screens display wider, so the WR/WM definitions tend to fit on one line, rather than wrapping to a new line. It's not a huge difference but every little bit helps!

I've actually found that by increasing the size of the font, I can go faster on the WRs even though I have to scroll down because fewer definitions fit the screen. Being able to see helps me out.

On a PC, I hit Control plus the + sign to make that happen. I don't know how to do it on a Mac.
