Hi Sploofers,

My "Mortgage Terminology Quiz" just went live. You hear these terms in the news a lot lately. Now see how well you know the lingo. Enjoy!

Hi to you....
I had already seen your quiz and meant
to do it anyway because it looked interesting
however, it's not a good thing to advertise
your quizzes on Salty Dog....

The Hit List Forum is where you want to post quizzes you want people to look at! :')

Ryayader, I don't blame you one bit for posting our quiz on "Salty Dog". The last time something was placed on the "Hit List" before ypour post was 8/6-last viewed 8/14. When I complained about misuse of the forums in a support ticket and editor replied that "Newbies" would learn "proper etiquette" for placing possts-??? Check "Ask the Audience" and see how many questions are placed there as opposed to the "Salty Dog". At some point way back when even Justin said in effect to self-promote-old threads impossible to locate now. At one time it was kind of an unwritten thing that even the "Hit List" should be reserved for others to call attention to your quiz-Justin never did say where it was apprropriate to self-promote though. You run the bigger risk of your quiz being "BOMBED' or ignored by posting it anywhere. Most people who can do the puzzles as many points available by taking-no rating system for them. Haven't seen much self-promotion here in any case as it is unnecessary as pretty much perfunctory to comment on each others puzzles in "Salty Dog". Not saying a bad word about puzzles or those who write them-do most of thehem myself. You sould also know I have been around here for a long time under one name or another and have acquired the name of "thread police"-so do whatever you want to do just know there may be consequences which you are not forewarned about either-Linda

Definitely DO NOT post your own quiz in the HIT LIST category. That is a no-no.

I am going against type and posting what ever I feel like here. Here comes the backlash,

Go check Tacos quizzes they are great
I like to eat cheese
Hotwire is less interesting
The Beatles are the best
And has anyone else noticed that when it is dark the sun is no where to be seen, coincidence, I wonder

What Maurlin said
If he had posted in Hot List, where he should have, it would have popped up as a new post and it would have been seen. It doesnt matter when the last post in hot list was

HOT List-don't tell me something new here...most likely did not understand your post-dense like that at times. Just believe new folks should know the same things that people who have been her for a bit do-Linda

Post someone else's quizzes you like on the hit list. We'll know your opinion is unbiased, and some of us will then take an interest in you and your quizzes, and maybe promote them.

Thanks to Rowlanda, Caramel, and Ken for the heads-up regarding Sploofus etiquette. I went back and re-read Justin's tips:

"(4) Post a link to your quizzes on bulletin boards, BLOGS, chat rooms and discussion forums all over the Internet. Bring people DIRECTLY into your desired trivia quiz page."

Apparently we should advertise on discussion forums, just not the ones here on the island! That makes sense, though. If everyone advertised his or her own quiz it would defeat the purpose. Also, we all benefit (especially Justin) if we bring in new Sploofers. Ken, you have the right idea: establish a reputation as a good judge of others' quizzes and folks will take notice of your own quizzes. Newbie lesson learned!

I also enjoy cheese. And tacos. The Beatles are great. I, too, have noticed that the sun seems to disappear every night, right around dusk. Something fishy is going on.

Off to check out Taco's quizzes!
