If anyone fleeing from Ike (regular sploofus only) needs a place to stay, we live in New Orleans and have a lovely spare bedroom. I mean it. Let me know. No reason to pay for a hotel.

bbear, I think we might have a hurricane in Indiana say, November. Offer good? Seriously though, I'm worried abour Taco. She's just south of Houston and is obviously getting hammered (not in a good way). Extremely nice of you to offer folks in need a place.

Shared a cab with an evacuee today. Her 80 year old parents have 5' of water in their house in Houston. I heard on the news this afternoon that there was actually more flooding than with Katrina. I don't see how - but I guess just because of the sheer spread out size of it.

There was tremendous flooding, but the difference between Ike and Katrina is the water, which has already gone down in Texas, stayed for weeks in New Orleans because of the failure of the levees.

Water in your house, thought, no matter what, sucks.

Sandra, if you have a hurricane in November in Indiana, offer stands. Heck, offer stands anyway.

Thanks Bbear. Crazily enough, we're getting the remnants of Ike here right now. "Squalls" never before have I seen that in a Bloomington forecast. So glad that the storm was at least not as bad as forecast. Still haven't heard from Taco, her power may be out for a while I guess. Sucks.

We have also been getting lashed by rain and wind
in Southern Ontario!!!!
Forecast says we're in for another "bad" night again
- because of IKE....
Appreciate it if you can keep it south of the border!!!!
