A great way to wake up in the morning; clever stuff.
Well done sploofanatic.

I went to see one of the movies in this puzzle when I was a very young child. Scarred me for life and I've never watched another scary or freaky movie again in my life. Considering this, I feel lucky not to be in last place. I did enjoy the puzzle, it was fun guessing "without a clue."

Would y'all please knock it off with the fun movie/book/music puzzles in the morning? I'm late for work AGAIN.

Great WP Sploofanatic. Really well-constructed puzzles and good clues that didn't totally give them away. More please!

LOL! I've had to quit doing the WP before work because I've nearly been late to work too often. Now, I have to rush home from work and hope I catch it.

I was lost on this puzzle, because I don't watch scary movies. I was entertained anyway.

I love this "twisted" theme of yours, Sploofanatic! Good clues and a fun challenge trying to figure out what sort of horror would emerge. Ackkkkkkkkkkk! I think my favorite phrase was "burnt earth girls are easy offerings." Thanks for a fun WP!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words about all of the Twisted puzzles. I'm so glad you're enjoying them, they're a lot of fun to make. I've had a lot of laughs doing them, but some of the funniest ones aren't family-friendly enough to use! Please don't anyone think this format belongs to me, if you'd like to try one, by all means go for it! Here are the full ten phrases and clues:

escape from the phantom of the new york opera ("Metropolitan evasion?")
the attack of the giant tingler leeches ("Tickled to death?")
the day the twelve earth monkeys stood still ("A number were stationary?")
burnt earth girls are easy offerings ("Casual sacrifice?")
eight hollow legged man freaks ("Mutants can put it away?")
i am the lawnmower legend man ("Mythical greenskeeper?")
cat house of usher people ("Keep the girls quiet?")
the night of the living man who fell to earth dead ("Stumbling in the dark?")
donovans house of brain wax ("Want to shine on a test?")
the thirteen undead ghosts ("A number of redundancies?")

Sploofanatic showed his/her demented side. Maybe I will too.

This was very clever, and certainly took time to meld these movies into a coherent phrase.

I did see many of these movies so I enjoyed being spooked as I solved the puzzle.

Kudos!
