TRIVIA SHOWDOWN TIMES

Generally, I'm pretty quiet here. But I am troubled this morning. I was recently challenged to a Trivia Showdown. When I answered (pretty quickly for me, I might add), I received a response that said something like " Sorry kiddo, you answered correctly, but you took too long. Mr. Challenger answered correctly and in only 6.9400 seconds." My immediate thought was "Hey! I was pretty fast today!". What was MY time? Did he beat me by a tenth? a hundredth? a day and a half??? Now, I know I lose absolutely nothing here save for another chip at my Showdown percentile, It ain't about POINTS, it's about the time. I just wanna know how slow and decrepit I really am.
Sincerely,
Grammy Slowmoe

Showdowns suck that way.

Say Slowmoe, that has happened to me six times that I recall. I have won showdowns with wrong answers several times, but you have to wait a week to give the challengee time to respond. Being at the level you are at, it is surprising you haven't encountered this before. Ask support, maybe you'll get on the to-do list.

The showdown timer is still "suspect."
I've had a few responses take [what seems like forever] the timer bar cycling for several seconds before the next screen with your result appears.

I've noticed that the cycling timer is still counting those seconds, and it can be a factor to winning or losing.
It makes me hesitate to initiate challenges [except against apparent dormant players- I'm fearless].

I do have a DSL connection , so that may be part of the problem.

You think that's bad, the guy that challenged me answered in 3.3 something seconds! (a little suspect?) There's no way I could have beaten that.

Hey guys. I've answered questions in 3.3 seconds or even faster by knowing the answer and having it first on the list. It *is* possible.

Sorry about your Showdown loss, Headylamar!

... but fun to see you here. I haven't seen a post from you in some time!

Thanks Katy! How nice of you! I guess I may have been misunderstood. I'm not saying that there was a problem with the timer. I would just really like to know what BOTH of our times were. It seems to me that if Sploofus can tell me that Mr. Challenger's speed was 6.9400 seconds, they ought to be able to let me know what my time was as well. I am not blaming a "faulty" timer. I just want to know how fast or sloooowww I am.

BTW, I've been here since Feb of 06 or 31 months. I have never initiated a showdown challenge, but have been challenged 44 times. Is that a lot or what? Just curious. How many times have some of you other folks been challenged to a showdown?

dear Headylamar
I'm on a run that I suspect only Larrybus could equal (maybe someone does challenge him but I doubt it).
My last challenge received was October; since Sep 07 I've issued 60 challenges and received one.
The last two losses my clock has malfunctioned and I've lost both from what at this end was an instantaneous (give or take a second) which is depressing me a little!
But when you've run out of wagers gambling addicts like me need the rush.

Barry,
Well, duh! Who's gonna challenge you? You are really, really smart AND fast! Unlike, um, me for instance... I think word is out that I'm an easy win. Wah!!
