SEASON THREE

Wow! Was that a great start or what?! I got to find out what I've been wanting to know since season 1, which is, what was Mama Petrelli's power? Seeing the future. Makes a lot of sense now.

I thought her power was being able to know what someone else's power was, but of course she knew - she'd seen people in the future!

The Petrelli family certainly lets their God complex get a hold of them, don't they?

And wow! Sylar is her son! Sounds like an Oedipus thing - she has him and tries to change the future she sees by sending him away to live with someone else but the horror she saw comes true because of sending him away.

Very cool start to what looks to be a fascinating season!

I know! And how about that Linderman? What's up with that? Has Nathan gone totally bonkers?

I liked that we didn't have to see what Micah and his cousin were up to - annoying! And the world's most annoying hero, Maya, finally quit her whining. If she starts crying again, somebody slap her!

Okay, so last night's episode was something, wasn't it? I can see that this season is going to turn our ideas of who's good and who's bad upside down. Claire bad? Sylar good? The world's gone mad!

I see that my theory about Tracy's freezing ability was way off! I thought for sure she really was Niki and just didn't remember. A clone! How's that going to play into this story?

Very exciting stuff!

That was a bit of a departure from what we've come to expect, now wasn't it?

Okay, overall, I'm really enjoying this season, but maybe that's in comparison to last season. They've definitely left themselves open to questions:

What happened to Peter's Irish girlfriend?
What about the list of those suspected of having abilities?
Are the writers now going to tell us that the Consortium (for lack of an actual name) created all these heroes, as opposed to the evolutionary theory that was prevalent before?

Just some of my thoughts. New members, tell us what's on your mind...

Ok.. I'll bite.. Hi Judy

I've been watching Heroes from the beginning. I must say, it's more confusing than Lost! ... I think the writers have to slow it down a bit or let us catch up to the action. I really like the show but am getting frustrated with all the story lines and questions.. just like Lost lol.

True. Large casts are a way to pull in viewers who may not like one particular character (such as Maya) but really like someone else (like Hiro). It can lead to lots of difficulty in keeping up with plot lines. Of course, in Lost's case, I think a lot of that is simply because of J.J. Abrams.

But back to Heroes. This week's episode was a heart breaker for me. Hiro! How could you!?! I can only hope that he will go back in time and fix what he has done!

I don't think that doing a bad thing + good reason = okay to do it. It's not just your motivation that counts, but also your actions.

Side note: A friend and I were discussing, "Why is Mohinder turning into a spider? What is the significance." So he looked up the origin of spiders according to Greek mythology. Definitely look it up. I think Mohinder can be seen as Arachnea and Angela Petrelli as Minerva. Very cool.

Thank goodness! I was going to be really mad if there wasn't a collapsible sword and fake blood involved! Really good episode this week, though. Papa Petrelli has a fascinating power that is the source for Peter and Sylar's similar yet opposite powers. Very cool!

This week's (10/27) episode felt like a filler, but I can see that it's a bridge to whatever is coming next. Okay, raise your hand if you thought Claire and Elle traveling by plane when Elle was a malfunctioning ball of energy was a stupid idea! (raise, raise)

Oh, no! How will Peter get his powers back?

Your thoughts?

Now THAT is what I call a good episode (11/10)! Talk about twists and turns. I love getting the back story on these people we thought we knew so well; turns out we didn't. From the beginning I have not really liked or trusted Mama Petrelli. Now we see why she behaves as she does in trying to protect Nathan. Wow!

One of my favorite moments from tonight's episode was seeing that the train crash was caused by Meredith, and it's the train Claire saved the firemen in! How cool!

Your thoughts? Favorite moment?

This week's episode (11/17) was intriguing. Lines have been drawn and we see at the end what appear to be the sides; good guys vs. bad, but the question is, are all the team "members" what they seem? Will Sylar/Gabriel choose his father and Elle over his mother and brothers? Will Arthur's love for Angela be his Achille's Heel?

We shall see....

(11/24) The writers have been eating their Wheaties this season, that's for sure! Very good episode tonight. I liked that it was Hiro and Sylar/Gabriel who felt that losing their powers was not necessarily a bad thing. The two who are, in many ways, the antithesis, good/evil duo, and one feels relieved and the other says it's not necessary to have powers to be a hero. Actually, quite an astute observation from my favorite little Hiro/Hero!

Do you think Bennet will really kill Elle and Sylar?

Yes, sort of.

(12/1) Tonight's episode felt a little contrived and predictable, but the scenes in the comic book store were worth the rest. Best. Day. Ever!

I'm sorry to see Nathan's god complex kicking back in. He's too much like his father.

(12/8) This week's episode felt a little more familiar, in the sense that I enjoyed it so much. Sylar is back to being bad and killing people (not that that's necessarily a good thing - Gabriel was growing on me), Hiro is back to getting stuck in the past (though that is frustrating because we need him), and Claire is back to making decisions she thinks will help, but might turn out to be bad, in the end (thus showing that she is still a kid, after all).

Very good episode, though. I'm glad that Arthur is dead, unless they find a way to bring him back. Grrrr! I'm also glad Hiro got to see his mother and she got to see him grown before she died. How cool was she!! A healer and carried "the light" and so very sweet to Hiro. Too bad we didn't get to know her more.

(12/15) So that's it for now! I wasn't sorry to see Meredith go or the other "minor" villains/heroes, both those held in Level 5 and those over at Pinehearst. Annoying characters for the most part. What is it about the writers' inability to write decent minor characters? They always come off so annoying and whiny and you just want to get back to the "good" characters. Anyway....

So Peter took an injection to get his powers back. Do you think Hiro will get his back? The formula was destroyed and apparently the catalyst was used up, so is there any hope for Hiro?

Nathan certainly has turned out to be cold-hearted. I'm not sure that fits with him, though. He has gone to great lengths to save Peter in the past and now he has decided to turn on all the heroes in order to be the big man. I don't know.

Great appearance by Michael Dorn as the president.

Any thoughts?
