In spite of my decent score, my mind works much differently from the author's. Details after the puzzle.

This was a lot of fun- remembered most of the slogans.
One puzzle was a letter muncher for me- after solving it- I realized I had owned one!

I needed a peppermint pattie for comfort!
Nice job Bbear.

Fun puzzle, although one beat the heck out of me.

Fun puzzle, Bbear, with good clues and fun-to-remember slogans.

Good puzzle, although people outside of the U.S may find it hard - I know I did!

I knew all but one slogan and that cost me letters but was a great puzzle to do.

Good puzzle until I got to Volkswagen

Thanks, you all. Really enjoyed writing it. I was worried about the VW, but Slicko said he got it with no letters. (Of course, however, he's brilliant).
My 20 something kids and a bunch of their friends took it in my stead last night; it was too funny, they hadn't heard of any of them, especially the one about cigarettes. Too cute!

My experience with the VW one:

It was my fifth puzzle, so I already had a good feel for the WP. One thirteen letter word, and the clue "This will bug you". Of course the intended answer was "Fahrvergnugen" (missing the umlaut). But do I think of that? Of course not! The only 13-letter slogan that fits the clue is "RAAAAAIIIIIID!!!!!!" Or maybe "RAAIIIIIIIIID!!!!!" Hmmmm ... maybe I should guess the I to see how the 11 inner letters are divvied up between the As and the Is.

Needless to say, this did not work out optimally.

Could have been worse though. I could have guessed A instead. Then I'd have lost 3 moves on RAIIIIIIIIIID.

That's exactly where my brain took me, too.
