Interestingly enough, I am hooked on word puzzles and thoroughly enjoy them twice daily (most of the time). A thought though, since the clues and or titles are getting a tad far fetched, why not just do 2 puzzles a day, with no theme. A bit harder? Maybe!!! but still would be fun - just remember the good old days of hangman!

I like the topics (not all of them, but most) and I like to think about possible answers before starting. I'd miss the clever topics if they were abolished. However, I do think that a mystery puzzle (where one would then guess the theme after completion) would be very fun. And an occasional "potpourri" puzzle would be interesting.

Without a topic - people couldn't do their hours of research before they take the puzzle - do you want a theme once you start doing them though? - or just make them random - they could be any topic from soup to nuts???? That would make them really hard - no chance for cheaters - maybe!

Random sounds wonderful and perhaps a great idea is figure out the topic at the end - or even random. Either way would be fun and great. And why worry about cheating, as I hafve said, my only competition is me!

I found the thread with the Hangman-style request! Again, be careful what you wish for!

Now I may just plot something diabolical with a hidden theme....

Ack, Jerryk, you've created a monster hangman!

I must admit, it's my worst showing in months. I didn't even make the Top 100 and escaped with just over 2000 points.

I just did the challenging wordpuzzle and I thought the words were in a foreign language. It was in English, wasn't it?

Believe it or not but the medium hangman was easier than the easy one - go figure!

You're welcome jerryk. I'm glad you're enjoying them - especially as it was your idea! I think I will try to do some more of these in the future for those that seem to like them and to mix things up a bit. I promise not to do 3 in a row again! They are SOOO much easier to write than a regular themed puzzle too!

While I pride myself on having a fairly large vocabulary, I knew none, let me repeat that, none of the hard words. Still, though, it was fun. Treacherous, but fun.

In my hard hangman I knew one of the words and had heard of three, but the last one was so bizarre I felt like I was playing the alphabet-soup-random-collection-of-letters game!

Afterward, I looked that one up on and it turns out my 13 year old son knew it! He had just studied the concept in school! I won't mention the subject since I don't want to give away any hints but sufficeth to say it is not one of my best subject areas!!

Worpuzzles were actually the whole reason I went Gold (so I could do 2 a day).
But I do hate Hangme...I mean Hangman.
I've already explained why so I won't rattle on about it again.

I'm so curious to know what the hard words were!
I only got to play the medium game and a lot of you are saying that one was actually easier than the 'easy' game...

I also went Gold for the WordPuzzles - I love them! And, I also found the Medium Hangman easier than the Easy Hangman. My biggest claim to fame on the current puzzle (Things in the Attic) is that I did better than Noncentz!! Yay!! Alice

I looked up the words afterwards in the dictionary and could not find any!! I scored better though, with the hard one - go figure!
Maybe the words were not in English afterall.
