To everyone who took my Sunday at SMOKE'S House WP, IT WORKED! Thanks to megapowerful Sploofus mojo, on Sunday (the very next one after the puzzle ran) my driver, the great Tony Stewart, won his first race after 42 (yes, that's right, 42) winless races, breaking the longest winless streak in his career by far, and notching his first career win at Talladega Superspeedway, as well as keeping intact the streak of winning in every kind of car he's ever driven, a scant few weeks before he steps out of the Toyota and back into a Chevy. It was major.

There was screaming and laughing while crying, and quite a bit of happy dancing.

Also want to thank you, Bill, and everyone else who sent a message. Very, very cool to have you guys think of me and drop a line.

The congrats call from Philly was awesome! Sunday was my best day in a long time.

Next up is Charlotte on Saturday night, so this Sunday I hope to be hung over and worn out from more dancing.

I'm really happy for you, Donna! I know nothing about racing and would never even have known who Tony Stewart was if it weren't for you. It's always a pleasure to learn something new. I always ask people to root for my favorite baseball players and teams, so I'll root for your drivers.

Hurray for Tony! Let's hope it is Toyota's swan song.

New number will be 14, by special permission of the great AJ Foyt.

I don't know about Waltrip, don't remember it. I remember the 11 and the 17.

Just read some stuff today where Tony denied that Chevy put any money into getting him back, but he did say they'd made no secret that they wanted him. Also something about Toyota being outraged at him for continuing to run Chevys in the USAC series even though Toyota had cars in the series.

Does this mean we get a Sunday at Smoke's house sequel every week now?

Congrats dear friend...

AJ Foyt was my favorite driver when I was young, so that's cool. Not that I knew much about the sport then (and scant little more now), but it is just a great name to say ten times really fast.

Did get to meet Dale Jr. at a promo at the camera store I was managing in Glendale back in 2002, I think. Printed so many pictures of him that day that his face is indelibly etched in my mind. He bears a strong resemblance to one of my nephews, too, so it was a little weird.

You [and my wife Joyce] whooped it up last Sunday! She also gets all "smoked up" about him.

We've met Tony a few times when he's in our area.

He is a great guy besides being the most talented driver on the NASCAR circuit.

Hope he can pull out the championship before switching teams.
