TELL SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR BODY

I don't grow hair on my legs. None. Used to have a few but they gave up.

I have freakishly long toes -- if they were cute and adorable, like my daughters, I would probably wear a size 6 shoe, but noooooo I wear an 8 1/2

She's 511 pounds and 115 inches tall.

In high school and for most of my life, I had totally straight hair -- it wouldn't hold a "do" no matter how hard I tried. After my hysterctomy, my hair became a different entity. Now I have long voluminously curly locks. It's a complete mystery, but I rather like it better.

I'm double jointed in my fingers. When I was in grade school, there was another boy that was double jointed as well and we used to go around and freak out the younger kids...it was fun

My hair is getting thinner and thinner. Always had thin and baby-fine hair but the problem is getting worse. And I hate wearing anything on my head so a wig is probably out of the question. My dad had a head of thick hair .. why couldn't I have inherited that from him instead of his Roman nose (it roams all over our face!) Bad joke.

That sucks, Pat. I can't stand a wig but I have LOTS of hats. My hair was always thin and fine too, and I used to lighten it a little. It lightened on its own after menopause, but it looks more blonde instead of gray, very strange, and the change in texture made it look thicker and gave it more body than it had when I was younger. I wish I'd had my now hair when I was young.

I really like my body. I have worked hard to get to the point where I can say that. It's funny though, when I was younger and really did have a great body I didn't appreciate it. All I could see were the flaws. I wish I had the twenty something body to go with my forty something confidence. Youth is wasted on the, um.. well, the young. Also, I am bowlegged and double jointed in my arms. I wish I didn't grow hair on my legs - shaving is a bitch!

Well most of you know I am 500lbs and have a wooden leg.
The leg is - at the moment - Yellow....to cheer me up....
I am going to get a set of wooden teeth soon, and will paint
them yellow too....to match my leg.
My hair is dyed Orange right now....I wanted to blend
in with the Fall colours.
I could lose a lot of weight if I didn't sit here all day 24/7
playing on Sploofus.....maybe if I was slimmer, people
wouldn't stare at me when I do go out!!!!

I won't even go into what my body looks like now. Ankles are now twice the size they were just weeks ago & hair is falling out. On bright side I've now shrunk to 5' 2" & my eyes are still blue, so when hubby comes back he'll be singing, "Has anybody seen my gal" Always liked that song

"The Knee"

There wanders through the world, a knee.
It's just a knee, no more.
It's not a tent; it's not a tree;
Only a knee, no more.

There was a man once in a war
Overkilled, killed fatally.
Alone, unhurt, remained the knee
Like a saint's relics, pure.

Since then it roams the whole world, lonely.
It is a knee, now, only.
It's not a tent; it's not a tree;
Only a knee, no more.

- Christian Morgenstern

...which is great, but not actually a part of MY body.

I have to wear my glasses about an inch down my nose because my eyelashes are so damned long. I also have been repeatedly asked ever since I can remember if I'm wearing mascara. After about 8 years old, I gave up and just said "Yes".
If I start blinking rapidly enough, I can move small objects from afar.

See that chaotic butterfly? Well, it's not him - it's me.

I have freakishly small pinky fingers, big feet that won't stop growing, elbows that could poke your eye out, and a burn mark on my forehead from an accident involving big '80s bangs and a curling iron.
On the plus side, I have long eyelashes, have never had a cavity, don't get sunburns, and my current hairstyle does not require Aquanet Extra Super Hold.

When I was in my 20's, fit and suntan, nobody looked or cared. Now I'm 63, out of shape and overweight, nobody looks or cares. I worry more about what I have working on my insides they days than I ever did my outsides, back in the day.
Think about it !!

My fingers on both hands are deformed. I can't make the boy-scout symbol. When I try, the 3 fingers curl down and even if you were to force them up, as soon as you let go they curl back down again.

My daughter thinks it's hilarious and asks me to do this when she needs a laugh.

Still, I managed to learn to successfully play organ, piano, drums, trumpet and flute. I have, however, also had Carpal Tunnel in both hands which required surgery, and am now battling Epicondylitis - wonder if it has anything to do with the deformity???

Cheers!

S.

I had gone thru a somewhat messy breakup -- my heart was broken -- in the mean time my gall bladder decided it wanted to be removed -- my surgeon, was good friend of my ex, (who was a family practice doctor) and allowed him to come in the OR -------- one of the incisions from the laproscope, flapped slightly -- now I have a scar that looks like a small letter "d" or the letter "p", depending on your perspective -- my ex's intials are PD.....
fyi, those where the good old days in a small hospital -- no way that could have happened any place else but rural PA -- and now we are good friends...

The hair on my legs is blonde (my head hair is brown) and so light that I don't bother shaving it. Also, I have never had more than three hairs at a time grow in my armpits. Needless to say, I don't even own a razor!

So the ugly nurse says "I was giving the burns patient a bath today... and he has a tattoo! It's in a very delicate place and it says LUDO"
The pretty nurse says "When I gave him a bath it said Llandudno".

Speaking of delicate places -- a woman came in with bad case of poison ivy -- but denied being outdoors -- her claim was refuted when the doctor discovered a daisy in an uncommon place -- and I am not making this up.

No hair on arms, legs, under arms, or _______ but they have now gone to my damn upper lip. At least the suckers are gray. I do pull them when I see them. (and I know you aren't supposed to do that but I also KNOW that it is better than shaving them. Unfortunately, there is a person here at school that did not get that memo and she now goes by the name of "Whiskas" but not to her face.)

I taught myself control over some previously involuntary muscles: I stared in a mirror for hours learning how to wiggle my ears. I'm doing it now.

And now you're trying it too.

I've kinda got prehensile toes too - I can pick up stuff with them, hold a pen & write stuff which is fairly legible.
Do guitarists fingers count? I can hold a lighted match to the ends of one hand's fingers and not really feel it - but I suppose that's nurture not nature!

If I said I had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?

Aw- caught me lying , did ya?

I can turn my tongue upside down and I had appendicitis when I was four years old- youngest patient at York Hospital for that type of emergency surgery. The many decades old scar is still prominent!

I wish I had Mr. Spock's brain however. I'd beat Slicko in a word puzzle then.

My inner jaw is so misshapen from kissing my steering wheel in '61 that I cannot be fitted with dentures, my nose has been broken, (never mind), my ankle was crushed at work in '64, I have had two knuckles broken, a dislocated shoulder x2, I have a pretty scar over my right eye from a motorcycle accident in '75, a six inch scar on my left arm from a broken beer bottle. Otherwise I'm perfect.

When I was a little kid in Houston my sister pushed me in a ditch and my foot was nearly cut in half by a broken mayo jar lid. (Are your toes curling yet?) I was 6 years old and had just started first grade. We were very poor and didn't have a car, so the neighbor took us to some clinic where the dr. stitched up my foot with a cigar sticking out of his mouth the whole time. To this day, 44 years later, if anything touches that scar I feel it for hours.
