1995 WP

I can't believe that stuff was over 12 years ago!! I'm feeling old ...

But very fun WP as always anyway, Sploofusaurus.

Was going to say that at least the political threds havecut down on what I believe to be "ridiculous" comments on the puzzles-a total useless activity. Would rather see good we-written quizzes tauted on "Salty Dog" at least they are not useless after a day abd would get more folks taking them_Linda

Thanks everyone.

Sorry that you feel that way Linda, but simply ignore the threads then. There is no other feedback mechanism to let WP authors know whether they are on the right or wrong track. They are hard enough to write and our supply keeps drying up. A large part of that is overly-negative feedback or zero comments at all. If WP author were a paid position it'd be a different matter, but part of why people write them currently is to hear whether or not what they wrote worked. Imagine giving a stage performance and the audience simply walked away at the end and said absolutely nothing. Not very likely that you would continue acting, right?

Please start threads about quizzes and everything else on Sploofus. We need lots more chatter about what the site is actually about than any talk of politics and religion.

I enjoyed that puzzle. Brought back some memories.
The "trivial year" puzzles always make you smarter- even if your score is mediocre.

While 1985 seems like a distant era of my life, 1995 still feels like it is part of my present. Strange how different the two decades feel.

And the lesson this puzzle reminds me about is: always check the spelling on names in WordPuzzles, even when you're sure they're right. I failed to do so on one name, and it cost me three moves and several places on the list of scores. So it's clearly a lesson I need to be reminded of from time to time, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Took the puzzle and it was fun-take most of them. Have noticed very little negative feed-back-mainly "pats". I assume they are difficult to write but so are quizzes like EAs, A rating system like the quizzes have might be in order. Perhaps the contest think is a step in that direction-hope so-Linda

Yet another fun Trivial Year WP, Sploofishy! I really enjoy these. You always pick a great variety of events to remember. I have to say, it seems like just yesterday that Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games started. Anyway, thanks for a lot of fun!
