I know it has been mentioned before about down rating a quiz because of getting bad scores but surely if a quiz has a 7 star difficulty rating people should not be suprised to find it is difficult?

I had 'Fascinating Feline Facts' go live today and was pleased with the initial ratings. The current highest score is 50%.
Then 4 people. in a row. got 20% and the rating dropped from 7.something to 5.9.

I know it is to be expected maybe but I feel quite upset as the quiz does not claim to be easy. If I wrote a easy cat wuiz with no effort involved such as ' how many legs on the average cat?' I would get better rating s just because someone gets 100% - which is silly as everyone gets 100%
Personally, I think it is far better to get 40% or 50% if there is only one or two with higher scores.

Sorry for rambling but I neded to get this off my chest or it will be on my mind and stop me sleeping. (it is 2.50 am here)

I try not to rate a quiz based on my score. I usually rate it based on how well written it is, how much work the author had to do, and whether there was any humour involved.

I tend to score a quiz on the lower side if it is full of spelling mistakes, not because I didn't do well.

I took it and found it and excellent, interesting and challenging quiz. It is a shame some people cannot appreciate the work put into a quiz and rate that instead of how simple it was to get a high score.

I think that most people tend to be fair about grading a quiz. I actually just got a 20 on one super hard quiz that was terrific. I gave it a 9. Hey, I just didn't know the answers, but I knew tht I wouldn't going into it.

I have a quiz running now (What Should I Eat?) that turned out to be extraordinarily difficult. It is displaying 9 stars. I put a warning in the description about how tough it is. 21 people have taken it - and the highest score is 40 so far. But it is running 7.3 for a rating at the moment - so I don't think that folks are downgrading it because they did poorly - in fact I have received a whole bunch of messages from quiz takers telling me how much they enjoyed the quiz. So, I do think that most folk are fair when it comes to rating.

I try to grade on how uniquely the questions are written. A lyric fill in the blank quiz does not take much thought. I took a quiz on NFL team nicknames and rated it high because the writer gave some insight to how the name was selected. If it had been simple matching the rating would have been lower.
