My last two quizzes I compiled have had vastly different profiles, due to a factor outside my control.
The first was posted midweek; when I came back to check 12 hours later it was completely off the initial 'recent' list and in fact almost vanished within the day. Total takers...9 -- but a rating of 8; it was a damn good quiz!
Todays quiz 13 hours later is 3/4 from top of the list...virtually no new quizzes have been released since then. And it has a high number of takers.

Just saying... maybe we should equalize the playing field somehow.
Ideas welcome!

I, too, have had this experience. Quizzes seem to be posted in bunches rather than relatively evenly over time. Actually, i'm not sure that my fairly recent quiz has had only 19 takers for this reason, but it sure can't help. I've cut way back on writing quizzes.

Complaints about sporadic quiz launches have been here ever since editors arrived. Before they were here-you wrote it-launched it-and there it was. There were some pretty poor quizzes in preeditor days-wrote a few myself. For a time Community Quizzes were blamed for delay in launches. Now it seems there are very few writers of those. There has always been the debate between "quick and easy" ( denied but many people rate on their score) and "quality". Seems to be a cycle that quiz authors with exceptions try their hand for a bit and then quit writing. Was it better with 1.0-I think so but who am I? Things need fixing here and hope Justin gets to it in my lifetime. Linda

After reading this thread I went to the main Quiz page to see what it looks like these days (I rarely use that page at all) and I saw those "Trivia Topics" at the bottom. WOW! It's like doing a search for quizzes I didn't even know I was looking for!

How come I didn't know about that feature? Was it recently added? Are any of you using it? And after you get a list of quizzes in that topic there is a list of RELATED topics on the right to click on! What a fun new way to find more quizzes on topics I like!

Not sure if it was showing the cross-out line on quizzes I've taken, but I was so psyched by this new-to-me feature I rushed back here to tell you all about it. Very cool.

Oh yeah, I think someone who cares about that "Most Recent" list should add it into the green bug Suggestions list. I think the most reasonable solution is to have all new quizzes listed for 36 hours, regardless of how long the list gets.

<> What a great idea! I vote for that too!

Yes, I suppose that feature is on the plus side but it would be much better, I believe, if we had the feature of finding quizzes and posts for that matter back by person and topicthat we used to have restored. This has nothing to do with Grrbyl;s original question that I can see anyway-Linda

Suzer - OK - I give up. Where is this feature you are writing about? I went to the main page and do not see it. I'm feeling rather dopey right now.

Sigh. Time to turn those italics off.
