I just read in the local news online that the lead singer of the Four Tops Levi Stubbs passed away today. This man had a voice that will not be equaled in annals of Motown....My thoughts and prayers are with his family....

Oh, we must have listened to his songs a gazillion times,

He will be missed.

As many of you, my wife and I live in a predominately black community. On occasion, I talk to some of the kids, they never heard of Motown. When my youngest son was a senior, a few of the girls in his class thought the Emancipation Proclamation
was enacted in 1992.

One of the most recognizable voices in pop/soul music. You know you're getting old when all your musical icons are passing away from natural causes and not self-destructing.

A great voice. He is there, in heaven, singing in the choir.

The Four Tops were one of the best Motown groups ever.
Very memorable hit records throughout their 50 year career.
I saw them perform in Cleveland in 1995; great showmen.

Levi will be missed.

Sad news to hear of his passing this week.
I always enjoyed the Four Tops. Very memorable songs and Levi's lead vocals were fantastic.
Reach Out [I'll Be There] and Standing in the Shadows of Love were my favorites.
