SPLOOFUS PLATINUM?

Along the lines of everyone being willing to pitch in to help Sploof out...I was thinking of a "Platinum" account. No special privileges just maybe a little platinum star next to your name.

I'm running with $50 per year...again that's $4 per month...if 200 of the gold members sign up thats an extra $10K for Sploof to get the help he needs...

Thoughts?

Mine say $50.00 per 6 months. anyone elses say that, and $14.95 per 6 months for gold. What happened to the $24.95 a year with the banner adds I thought we had already agreed on earlier this year?

Mine too says $49.95 for 6 months. Is that right? Thought the suggestion was $50 for a YEAR.

Just did. Looks fine. E-mailed Sploof to find out what's going on. They'll no doubt have it fixed in no time. Till then, I remain, plain old gold.

I think #50 per year would have probably got more take it up. I would have probably been able to talked someone into buying that for my birthday but it seems a lot for six months.

I would have to agree with Mrsgc. $50 per 6 months is a bit to pay but for a year...I'd be all over it like a cheap suit (by a good designer, of course).

Hmmmmm, wonder what that works out to in Can.funds.If it was for a year, well worth it,but kinda steep for me for 6 mo.

I also agree with Mrsgc, I think more people would have gone Platinum if it was $50 for a year, therefore more money to help out Sloofus right now. I know I would have, but $50 for 6 months is too much, I'll have to stay GOLD!

If you go to your (new and improved!) Command Center, there will be a choice on the left for "Update to Gold or Platinum" that details what you get for each. I know you can play unlimited WRs w/Platinum - that seems to be the big incentive, other than helping out to ensure The Day Without Sploofus is never, ever repeated.

Btw - I went to sign up last night and realized I'd lost my card earlier in the day. (O.k., left in an ATM. Everyone does that once...or 3 times...right?)
Anyway, I probably wouldn't have noticed and cancelled my card until some time tomorrow otherwise. So now in addition to its entertainment value, Sploofus is responsible for preventing the identity theft that surely would have occurred, leading me to destitution and moral bankruptcy.
Sploofus saved my life!

I shall be joining the platinum brigade in 5 to 10 business days.

S.

Again...to put things in perspective...gold is $15 per six months...PLATINUM is $50 per six months...or a difference of $35...or $6 per month...one value meal at the McyD's.

Or to further the point, $0.20 per day....for the upgrade...or just $0.27 from free to Platinum....

Here's a quarter....

The cost is minimal and the value is unmatched. I have not found anything that compares to sploofus. I pay $35 a month for basic tv service that I rarely watch, and have joined some other sites on the web that cost $10-20 a month for membership that I got bored with and dumped. Sploofus is more about the caliber of people who participate that draws my interest. oog

$50 for 6 months may not seem much but if you are living on Disability payments it is.

It works out about the same as someone earning $500 per week paying slightly over $300 for a years membership - to me that that is expensive.

Sorry to have a moan. I do really love the site or I would not have gone Gold. Guess I am just p'd off at being unable to do stuff I would like to because of financial restrictions. (not on here but everywhere)

Hmmmmmmmm....a few of you guys are using the same icon.......very confusing!!
I guess in time you will have something more personalised?

I love seeing all the new'uns, Redbaron's is a hoot, and Bigbird's such a natural choice...did I also see a Goldtiger lurking in the shrubbery?
I also enjoy seeing the personal pix of the members, putting the face to the familiar names adds dimension.
Looking forward to seeing many, many more Platinum Members!

OK people, when the obsession starts getting you all wigged out, you need to back away from the computer, go outside, take a deep breath, click your heels together and say 3 times "this is only a game, this is only a game, this is only a game."

I've noticed that noone has actually addressed the question asked about the folks who've renewed their Gold memberships and going Platnium. How would this affect their Gold Membership and the money they have already paid? Also, is it $49.95 for 6 months or $50.00 for a year's membership? This needs to be straightened out also.

Hi V - The $49.95 Platinum price, I believe, is for 6 months and not 1 year, as stated in the options, at the time of purchase.

As for the question about having just renewed your Gold, and what would happen if overlapped it with a Platinum purchase, I would contact Support with that one. Mr Sploofus may be better equipped to handle that one for you.

GL -

My gold membership wasn't yet up for renewal but I didn't care. That's not why I upgraded to platinum. I would have sent in $$ to keep this site up and running regardless of upgrades, perks, icons, etc. I'm thankful to be here.

Again, as I said in another thread, on my 3rd glass of wine so pretty soon I'm going to love everyone and hopefully by my 5th glass, my wallet will not be able to be found or it will be platinum memberships for the whole lot!
