As many Sploofus players who know me know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to TQOTD's. About a month ago, one of our local food chains had Diet Pepsi Max on sale with $1.00 coupons on each six-pack of 24oz. bottles (which made them $2.00 each six-pack and a free 12-pack of 12oz. cans, if you bought 3) . After two days and $24.00, I wound up with three cases of 24oz. diet Max in bottles and four 12-packs of cans, not a bad deal. This stuff tastes great and says the Ginseng and caffeine ingredients will keep you sharp and alert, "NOT FOR BILL !!!!" I have been on Level 32 for almost four weeks and the end isn't in sight. In the past I took a tip from Rowlanda (taking deep breathes) before doing the question and it worked for awhile, but then, I met Mr. Snooker and I haven't been the same since. (( I'm starting to ramble )).

I just read a little about ginseng on Google and it has quite a variety of uses. My question is: Do any of you use ginseng in your tea or in any other form ?? Does it give you the boost like a good cup of coffee does ?? I enjoy drinking this product but
I don't think it can unlock my brain cramps when it comes to my TQOTD's.

When I first got married, I bought my husband ginseng pills for a different reason. That reason quickly wore me out and now all ginseng is banned in my household!

Yes, I use it. It brings me from totally asleep to up where you guys are BEFORE your coffee.

As far as TQOTDs, I made a conscious decision to stop trying to race with the timer and actually take up most of the time reasoning it out. It has paid off a tiny bit.

Any side effects from ginseng? (Inquiring minds want to know.)

I haven't had any as long as I didn't take more than the recommended amount.

Thanks. Didn't know if this affected heart rate, for example. Sometimes caffeine does that, didn't know if ginseng did.

The small amount of ginseng in Diet Pepsi Max is negligible, and probably may be all but useless since it won't get absorbed in the bloodstream anyway.

So PMB- get some real ginseng pills and swallow them down with your Pepsi Max.
A trial study opportunity:
In a few weeks- your brain activity and alertness will affect your TQOTD performance-
[let us know]

Al, I am really surprised that you did not prescribe peppermint patties to unclog Bill's brain-freeze.
That rush of serotonin and endorphins and whatever has GOTTA help?

How can ginseng help his BRAIN when it's working on.................? Oh never mind.

Peppermint Patties are like alcohol. If you eat/drink a bit, you won't even CARE what your TQOTD percentages are. You'll just be happy no matter what.

Maybe it's just because your are "not the sharpest knife in the drawer"?

Thank you Rowlanda for the WP compliment. When I say "Not the sharpest knife in the drawer", I mean my percentage isn't where it should be (mainly by missing easy questions). After I take my keyboard apart and clean it, I think I'm going to start a thread on TQOTD's and how we all rate them. I'm sure all the geniuses will say that Books + Authors and Music + Musicians are a piece of Cake.

I too am far from being "the sharpest knife if th4e door". I might help me tremendously though if my exemption from ""Music and Musicians" would be returned.-I had it before 2.0 but rejoined after it was in place. and now don' t as anyone who joined after 2.0 doesn't have the option of exempting any category-level playing field? I get a whole string of them in a row. Have turned in multiple support tickets and have been repeatedly told that only Justin can fix this broken thing and it is second on his "To Do" list. People who joined after 2.0 for the first time most likely are unaware that some players have exemptions The last support ticket I submitted I was told that complaining to the editors would not do me a bit of good-got another one this morning-Linda

I dunno, Linda. I've found that the category I always look forward to (vocab) more often bites me in the butt than the ones I know less about (or so I thought).

I seem to still be opted out of sports, so maybe mine did carry through the 2.0 change? But no matter what category, I'm about 50/50.

And btw, even the butter knife can cut you - even the dullest knife in the drawer can do the job! And Bill, you are WAY far from that.

Jank, if you were exempted from a category in 1.0 it did carry over iinto 2,0. But if you had toatlly quit and rejoined-know not a whole buch of people do that- or joined after 2.0 wads in place you have no exempt category nor can you get one unless that option is restored. You are also correct that I often miss questions in any category-either I'm getting more dense with age or the questions have become more obscure. Just feel that options should be the same for all new or former players. Also know that I will never fall into the same league as some here in the intelligence area=Linda

I'm practicing what I've "preached."
I'm taking ginseng and /or ginkgo biloba pills and swallowing them with a diet soda.

[peppermint pattie as a treat afterward]..

I'll let you know how my TQOTD scores are affected.

this seems to be a valid scientific study; time for a peppermint pattie.
