WHAT'S A GOOD NAME FOR A FALL CONCERT?

Public school orchestra concert. My creativity is dry as a crackling, fallen leaf.

Fall fest?

Music in the leaves?

Colors of the rainbow?

Sorry...my creativity stinks. Anyone else?

I love the name in principle, Bigbird, but with this group of middle schoolers, no way I'm calling it Harvest Hoedown! hahaha - I'd never hear the end of it!

Thanks for the ideas, everybody. Keep 'em comin' as you think of them, please! Concert is tomorrow night, and I'm designing the program today.

(Ode to a dry, crackling leaf? hahahahahahahaha)

our middle schoolers were the "Mountaineers" in sports -- so how about something like
"Mountaineers" Welcome Fall -- inserting your school's name, of course
.. or
Middle School Melodies for Fall

The "Mountaineers" are Falling for Music (with falling leaves swirling in the background on the program)

I LIKE it - we'd have to alter it to play forward. Later in year, maybe a play on the movie "Play it Forward" or "String Forward." ok, maybe not.

Sadly, it's fall back. Which, btw, when IS daylight savings time over?

So what is the name chosen for the concert?

In a week in (most of) the US and Canada. They extended the end of it a week a few years back to give the trick-or-treaters a little more light to do their thing.

Cindy - your cat is gorgeous.

Right now, the program says "Strings of Autumn." But that's VERY tentative.

Thanks for the cat compliment Janice. His name is Casper and he officially "belongs" to my grandson Drew. Good luck with the concert, not many things can compare to a group of students putting their hearts into their music.

Daylight Saving Time ends Nov.2, doesn't it?

I like Strings of Autumn - or how about Autumn Strings

Glad it's your job to come up with the name. Hey, in the spring, how about having a contest and letting the KIDS come up with the name - the winner gets a free individual pizza at Pizza Hut or some such thing.

Autumn Strings it is, then.

Great idea about the kids having a contest. I've tried that before and it hasn't been very successful, but not at these schools. I'll try it for the winter concert.

Thanks, everybody!

That's OK, Jank. It would be pretty cold by the time it got to Nebraska, so I'll pass. But thanks for the offer
