Tomorrow we have two puzzles running to test the voting system out. They are real word puzzles, and we want you to vote on them, but they won't count as entries in the contest. So, feel free to be as cruel or generous as you'd like.

We will be watching to make sure everything works, so can iron out any glitches that might pop up before the actual contest begins.

All official contest puzzles have titles that begin with "C:" (short for Contest without taking up too much space). They also all show in the "by line" that they are from "Sploofusker".

To vote on a particular Word Puzzle, send a PM to Wordpuzzle with the name of the puzzle as the subject and your rating score in the text. One vote per person per puzzle.

Here's the link -

The scale for voting is as follows:

4 - Loved it
3 - Liked it
2 - It was so-so
1 - Not my cup of tea

Please take a moment to vote on all the puzzles you take, so we can make this contest a success.

Thank You!

If presidential candidates can vote for themselves, I don't see why you can't vote for yourself, too!

Just be honest about rating it.

Seriously, we're hoping each puzzle gets enough votes that it really shouldn't matter one way or the other.

Doesn't "Sploofusker" just almost sound like it's Chick?

thought this should go to the top as a reminder....

I just thought of this as I have no idea how many people really read the forums - to get more people participating maybe as the first couple are "tests" a pm/email should go to everyone?

At the end of the WP, at the right it says "Related Links." Seems that would be a great place to put the link to the voting PM so we don't have to go search for it.

Just curious how many moves the person who wrote it should make. If Slicko, Smoke & a few others show up with 100 plus moves we'll know they wrote the puzzle

I just took the first Test WP. I suggest that the link for voting be shown on the results page since otherwise it is necessary to locate this chat message or find Wordpuzzle's page in the Player Directory. Also, unless there is some brief statement there that shows up for Gold and Plat members, non-Salty Dog readers will not know about the contest.

Agreed. If a link could be provided it would also serve as a reminder for folks like me who hop in to do the puzzle between phone calls at work.

Good idea!

We wouldn't be able to add a link before the contest starts officially, but I will send a reply to everyone who sends in a vote today, so you can just reply to that reply each time. Just be sure to change the subject line.

Thanks to Bbear for the idea!

Bump - and a reminder that the first practice contest puzzle is called "Bag Leftovers" (I had to go back and look before I could vote!)
