SARAH PALIN IN 2012

We're all a smart bunch of people and have great ideas. Ms. Palin may run for president in 2012. Any constructive ideas on what she could do during the next four years to help herself in that effort?

She should mostly likely refrain from wearing frog headgear. This is always a major step towards public acceptance.

Go back to college, get a degree that might actually prepare you for politics, so hopefully next time at least you can trick us into thinking you know what you are talking about on important topics. All I ask is the bare minimum, fool me, apparently the impromptu training she recieved from McCain was not enough.

Take courses in political science, international affairs, American history, economics, diplomacy and hairdressing.

She probably only has to kick back and watch the economic trainwreck that is likely coming. We need change ( in four years)!

Don't dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard-- consider this.
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter-terrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a Federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counter-terrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

Sarah Palin has a higher security clearance than ANY of the four major candadites (Presidents/Vice Presidents.)

In that I found out today (Thanks Chick) your credentials or background doesn't even have to be checked though. You could be a suicide bomber and run for President I guess.

I'm afraid it would take more than four years to prepare "Caribou Barbie" for the presidents job.

Alright Palma, nobody's updating this thread, so I'll bite if I have the time. I'll admit, I don't have all of the facts on that, but not sure I need them either. Her "briefings" and her ability to understand those briefings or to "get something from them" seem to be miles apart, otherwise she would know what she is talking about. You can go ahead and brief me on what's going on with somebody's sickle cell anemia, doesn't mean I'm going to understand what you are talking about. If its technical, you need a background first to understand the "significance" of what you are hearing, maybe she has people close to her who do that, (or maybe not, which scares me even more) because she obviously doesn't have the skill herself, or she wouldn't make an ass of herself everytime she talks about those topics. Her responses would just come "naturally", which is the result of insight and knowledge. Bottom line, briefings or not, she doesn't know enough.

I was more curious though about the responses of those who support her, what they think she should do to respond the next time to win an election, and not just the detractors.

LMAO! As compared to Mr. How do you introduce a bill? By all means don't let the facts hold you back. This thread could not previously be updated, because updates now have to be spread evenly among all the threads to give them a chance. Sheeeeez!

Dukakis Rocks!

Huh Felix? I'm saying if she really did get all those briefings AND understand them, it would show. It doesn't. I could sit here all day, look over those details, and sit and puzzle instead of how she recieved so much data and still doesn't understand the basics of human government, but why waste my time. Or clarify, if you feel you need to.

She'll only be the VP for now, pending a big turn around. My concern is that numbnuts doesn't the brains or backbone to run this country, At that level On The Job Training is not a luxuray. Oogie don't forget to vote next Wednesday.

Compare that to Biden, who when he talks about those topics, no one questions whether he knows what he's talking about, its just obvious.

Felix you're trying to trick me, everyone knows you vote on Thursday! "It is the mark of a learned mind to be able to entertain an idea without embracing it". I watch ALL the networks, read newspaper articles ,right & left, spend time on the web and draw my own conclusions on making a difficult choice between two undesirable candidates. The future of this country can only be improved,in my opinion, by one major step now before it's too late for our children and grand children. Education in our present system isn't keeping up with the world, we're turning out young adults not prepared to make the kind of decisions that will be necessary in the years ahead. Not just in terms of readiness in job markets, and the ever changing socioeconomic conditions we live in, but more importantly in making better choices in who will lead this nation and making their voices heard. No one in govt. represents the majority of citizens in this country on either side of the political aisle, only the special interest groups, the poverty dwellers, the ultra rich, and control is in the hands of Corporate America. I'm scared for our children and their futures, I can deal with whatever I have to and survive til my time comes to depart this world. Partisan politics will not be the salvation of those we love, and what dire circumstances it will take to wake up an apathetic population in an indignant outcry against those who continue to ply us with hopeful promise and deliver only more onerous and self-serving policy, I really don't know. I hope it is not some Orwellian future we leave behind, but I'm exceedingly pessimistic. We must teach our children well, it's our only chance.

Helping my question along..............

Should Palin change her look to get away from the caricatures? Go blonde? Wear dresses or pantsuits? Get contacts? Get a pixie haircut?

Should she become less folksy by losing the winks and "you betcha"s?

If McCain and she don't win, in the short term she could perhaps involve herself ininternational trade delegations that affect Alaska. Then she could always consider running for Congress in 2010, especially if the GOP loses Alaska's seat Tuesday. That way she might at least be perceived as having had more exposure to affairs of national import. She could also consider lightening up on the divisive rhetoric and building planks of a forward-going program ... plenty of time to think up a definitive plan before she throws her hat into the ring.

What? You wanted a joke answer? Trick or treat!

If I were Obama, I would name her as ambassador to somewhere, or at least find a place for her in my administration.

If I were Obama I wouldn't let her anywhere near my administration. Obama needs experienced, knowledgeable people around him.
There's going to be an economic train wreck? Wake up it's already here!!! Whoever gets elected is set to inherit one heck of a mess. A recession, a massive budget deficit...... If you think it will be all over by January 20th then you had better think again. It could be even worse by then.

And there was me thinking this Election as arousing SO MUCH
passion because, for once - all four candidates are Interesting,
Intelligent, Independent-minded and Idiocincratic....
Not part of the Business-as-usual, Establishment-right-or-wrong,
Go-along-to-get-along, Follow-my-Leader bunch of cabbages....
