Like any other first lady, the Big "M" will have to learn how to dress or be ridiculed on a daily basis.

That's a hoot! I am so far from anything haute, but I used almost the same words to describe it. I think the cardigan did folksy it up and make it look cheaper.

But I guess what caught my eye was that she chose red...not blue. Make of it as you will. It did look askew from different camera angles. i never would have recognized what I saw on TV stage last night as being what i just saw in your link.

Perhaps it looked nice on the hanger?

Darn! I missed it. I was watching Andy Griffith reruns.

Thank you for saying what must be said! From a distance it looked as if she'd spilled a can of paint on a nice black dress. It was so awful! I didn't like the dress she had on at the 3rd debate, either. You could clearly see the silver zipper running all the way up the back. She's far too nice looking to be dressing in such a casual and dowdy fashion. She has the makings of having all the style of Jackie. I hope someone gives her a $150,000 make over like they did for Palin, who looked fab last night.

I also found it odd that both Mrs. McCain and Mrs. Biden were in yellow. They looked lovely, but it just stood out to me.

Why just the other day Bubba and me were going fishin' and I said "Surely you're not going to wear that shirt with those trousers, they clash horribly, and you'll never get the fish-gut stains out of that material".

I distinctly heard Bubba say that to YOU!!!!

And I like Michelles hair-do
and I LOVE the dress....
Always loved tie dye....

Yes, I think she will be like Jackie
Certainly has the figure for haute
couture. Actually, when you have
a figure like that....Anything looks
good on you....

Sorry Row but I have to disagree, that dress was very unflattering, made her look dumpy. Not that her dress really matters but with the camera adding weight & those side panels too, bad choice (might not have been hers). Love black & red which suits her, just not that particular style.

Oogie, I love a man with fish gut stains, just as long as he takes me fishing too

I wondered what the heck she was wearing when she walked out! A close-up of the dress makes it looks better but it sure didn't show up nicely. She'll be fine in the long run. Designers will waiting in line for her to wear their clothes.

Fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez appreciates the notoriety.
It was different!

But I wouldn't wear it. It doesn't go well with my mustache.

It just barely goes with fishguts!

I cracked myself up when my first thought is she was trying to look like a Telly Tubby!

Unless she's, there's a rumor to start.

I liked the color of the dress but thought it would've been better without the cumberbund.

Of course, my notion of haute couture is when the racing graphics extend onto the sleeves of the tee shirt.

The kids looked absolutely adorable. It's going to be so cool to watch them growing up in the White House! Haven't had any that young since Caroline and John-John.

Why the hell didn't she wear Democratic "BLUE". BTW, who was that white guy Oprah was hanging on to ???

I could really not care less about what she was wearing. I am more concerned with what she will do, or not do as first lady. We have had some very dynamic ones in my life, and some fairly invisible ones.

Actually, the shot that caught my eye the most of the shot of Jesse Jackson weeping. Call me cynical or insensitive, but I could not help but put a caption bubble over his head saying: "That's supposed to be me."

Loved the dress...just loved it. HATED the short jacket.

Bwahahaha Tuzilla, thought the same damn thing myself....
