My neighbor's Father, Alton, needs your prayers. They think he may have had a stroke. He's been a very active 88 yr old until the past few days. the family is very worried. Thanks everyone.

I'm sorry, Cheyenn! Alton will be in my prayers. I have an elderly mother who was completely active, driving, etc. until she had pneumonia and since has gone downhill with a fractured vertebrae, cement injection, for that a couple of weeks ago, and a trip by ambulance to the hospital for a problem with severe pain in her hip last night. She received a shot for inflamation, and prescription for medicine for osteoporosis. She came back home last night. I hope she will be okay now for awhile as it is so sad to see the elderly suffering.

That is a shame. We send him our best wishes and prayers. Help make certain he gets proper medical attention, and most of all, maintains a positive attitude. That is the strongest of medicines.

Here come more prayers for Alton. He must be frightened.

I just saw this stroke video that I found totally fascinating. It's a stroke scientist telling about suffering a stroke. Very well done and informative.

God bless the scientists and keep them working for more cures and preventive measures.

my neighbor, Adalene, just called with an update. The tests on her father, Alton, show that he did NOT have a stroke. one of his meds has depleted his potassium and that was causing his symptoms. he has been admitted to the hospital to adjust his meds and they expect he'll be be up and going again, strong as ever, in few days.

Adalene was amazed that people who didn't know her dad had such care and compassion. She wants me to thank you all for your prayers and support. i told her my sploofus family was the best!!!

Thanks so much for passing on that link and the opportunity to hear
Jill Bolte Taylors detailed account of her experience of a stroke....

It was such an inspiring story, and gives me goosebumps to think
about the degree of joy she experienced when....freed from the
weight of her body and mind's connection to all personal worries and
stressors....she felt such a transcendant connection to the Universe.

What a strong woman - making the decision to work to recover,
and to share her experience with us.
Thanks again Chyenn, and I'm glad your friend was OK.
