Hey all,

Just wondering if it's just my bad luck but are all the TQOTD sports questions only based on either Major League Baseball, American football, NBA basketball or Ice Hockey. I love all sports but living in Ireland means we don't get much coverage of these sports. I know the majority of the Sploofus population lives in America but some more general and global questions wouldn't hurt surely. Due to the system to change the category exemption being inoperable I can't escape these questions.

Sports is my best category yet I never wager on it. I agree there are lots of questions in the categories you mention, but I have had my share of cricket, rugby, badminton, and even women's field hockey. Then of course there are the ubiquitous Snooker questions - of which I have only had one - but word on the street is that there are at least 3 of them out there. For more on that subject I refer you to Papermanbill (or Snookerballs as he prefers to be called) our resident Sploofus Snooker expert.

I know how you feel!
I have been playing sploofus for a one and a half years and i have never had a sports tqotd on real football, rugby league, rugby union, cricket, darts or snooker!

let's see.. i've been here since Jan 2005 and just off the top of my head i've had sports questions about: Snooker, cricket, Lacrosse, the Olympics, Gran Prix racing, curling, swimming, tennis, badminton, boxing, Pool (billiards), soccer, and of course all the American sports you mentioned. so there ARE quite a lot of other questions in the pool...

i never took advantage of the exemption option.. for me this is a daily adventure in what i know vs. what i don't know.. by accepting any and all QOTD categories, i learn facts about my least favorite things.. what can be wrong with that??

good luck and happy sploofusing!

I only WAGER on SPORTS. There are many questions that do not concern the 4 major sports in North America. The higher one goes up the level ladder the harder they seem to get. I have had questions on games I never heard or name the origin of X. I recently got one of the Snooker questions but not on a wager. Good Luck.

I seem to recall someone mention a bunch of snooker questions.

Ok so it seems it's just a matter of time before I start getting some other sports questions. I wouldn't mind some snooker questions as it one of my favourite sports so if the powers that be are reading this please pull some strings!!!!

I'm still waiting on a shinty question.

I had a really "shinty" Potpouri question this morning.

I won a wager today on sports. It happened to be on horse racing. Go figure.

at least there aren't a lot of Nascar questions. Not that I consider that a sport, but some people do.

Now you know why I got an exemption on the Sports category.
(Back in the days when you could get an exemption, that is.......?)

I've had an inordinate number of baseball QODs, but I can recall tennis, horse racing, skiing, rugby (saved it for a wager and bombed!) and one pro 'rassling.

But then the Lit QODs haven't given me one manga question yet, so who's to say?

I'm still waiting for the cheese rolling question to come up. It is a very underated sport, and can be eaten when finished.

I have been petitioning for the inclusion of competitive haiku-ing, but Sploofus refuses to promote violent blood sports.

Haiku's not a sport.
There's not enough blood and pain.
Limericks, perhaps?

An illegal underground limerick writers guild was busted up 'round here not too long should have seen the bloody gore, and that was just the callouses. It so heartbreaking that people consider this entertainment.

No not all of them but this is a US based quiz site. I never wager on a sports question for that reason. Just thank your lucky stars they don't ask too many questions on college football. I must admit I have had difficulty with quizzes based around U.S. TV shows which mention things such as the names of some presenters though.

Hey Rev don't say Haiku is not a sport. By definition you may be wrong.

The problem with the National Haiku League is that all the teams have such cumbersome names. Like the Oconomowoc Antilibertarian Kindergarteners.

(note: 3-word haikus are a challenge in themselves.)

i've heard it said that Charly Brown is a good sport.
