All right folks, let's start fessin' up. I want to know who wrote what! And I'll even begin by telling you that I wrote "Is 42 the Meaning of Life?" Congrats to everyone who participated in this contest. It sure was fun and I loved the variety and content of all the puzzles.

Okay, my turn. I wrote Happiness Is...
Congrats to Garrybl for guessing correctly. I had no idea I was so transparent!

I really enjoyed all the puzzles, and I'm looking forward to participating in the next WP contest.

I had never written a word puzzle before and decided to take the plunge for this contest knowing that the anonymity would give me some cover if it tanked

I wrote Musical Questions and had a lot of fun working on it. My editor Sploofusol was fantastic and very patient with this WP newbie.

I thought everyone did a great job with their puzzles. I enjoyed all of them and appreciate the effort the Editors put into making this contest such a hit.

Let's do it again!

I wrote "How Cool Are You?" knowing that no-one would guess it was mine. It is so far removed from all that is important to me that I was confident of anonymity!

Sorry, I meant to add "Which was not in the Top Ten entries, of course!"

I wrote "Mystery Prankster". It was about Ken Kesey, author and psychedelic icon. Salzypat guessed it correctly. Kaufman was a good guess, Barry, he's another one of the public Deadheads around here. He and Smaug probably knew who it was just from the title. Most of you, not so much, apparently. I had fun writing it, however, and at least it wasn't a Carnac!

I didn't know him - but did get him guessed with a little googling - and enjoyed that WP rjenson - learned new things

Mine was Game Talk. "nuf said about that one, I guess. Didn't do very well. Back to the drawing boards.

Ron, I looked at the title & thought Ken Kesey, then talked myself out of it until I got the first one, Duh I liked the Games one, too

Mine was Music Soup Mix - I honestly thought it would do better than it did but oh well - I had fun writing it

If the person wants to tell, I'd like to know who did Gone Phishing - that was an excellent puzzle - and I hope lots of people wrote down the answers after solving it - because lots of good info

Mine was the bland, generic, seasonal Let's Talk Turkey!.

Obviously not so bland.. everyone liked it!

Mine was the puzzle with the somewhat misleading (given the season) title, "Turkey Trot".

I really enjoyed them all. Think "Thanks, but No Thanks" was my favorite.

I didn't write a puzzle for this contest, but I appreciate all of your great efforts. You're all "1!!!"

Thank you all for writing them. They were all fun to try, some harder, some easier ... all enjoyable.
More! More! please.

I enjoyed them all so much! Thanks to all who took the time and wrote them. Much appreciated.

Woohoo, Sandra, Maurlin and company!

I decided not to break character, and indeed was responsible for the River Cruise Postcards.

I'm not incriminating myself- nor admitting anything.
One sharp guy thinks he detected a peppermint pattie crumb print on a word puzzle and accused me of writing it.
I'm not writing anymore puzzles until I clean up my keyboard and hard drive!

oops- John Denver lurks!
Friday morning!

I was responsible for the Monumental Memorial, which didn't do very well in the ratings either.

If you don't know anything about the Crazy Horse Memorial, I suggest you Google it and get a little idea of the size of this project. It's amazing. Someday I hope to see it in person.

Pat, thought the puzzle was really interesting and well written. Hope it visit the monument someday!

My puzzle was the Mystery Comic Strip Figure, which didn't do well, either. I probably should have done it as a tribute to Calvin & Hobbes instead of a mystery character.

I enjoyed both Crazy Horse & Calvin, more than a couple in the top 10. I don't think there was much of a difference in the scores between say, 10th & 20th. I wish the editors had told us individually how we placed. Those below top 10 don't know if they were 11th or 34th, which might help for next time

Kaelin - thanks so much for your kind words about my "Gone Phishing" puzzle! It started as scam emails but I couldn't come up with enough material; during my research I found a lot of info about various phishing scams, so that's how it turned into what it was.

Actually, when I took it myself it seemed too wordy so I graded myself a 3 - since it's not the sort I puzzle I like best to take! Wonder if it would have placed better if I'd given myself a 4

I don't think anyone should feel bad about their work in this contest, even if their WP didn't get into the top ten. I enjoyed them all and have great respect for all of you. There seems to be a bit of chagrin on the part of some of you, and it's not appropriate.

Well said....enjoyed all of them but some were my favorites.
None of my favorites are in the Top Ten....which doesn't I am
not discerning....
Just means you lot don't know what you're talking about
Think I guessed which one was yours Randy but have
forgotten the title....
Thanks everyone....

My post last night was written while very tired, (I even forgot to sign my name!) I intended to say the following:

I'd like to congratulate all the people whose puzzles did make the top 10, and I congratulate everyone who contributed. I enjoyed the contest immensely and hope there will be another one in the future. I guessed that the Mystery Prankster WP was yours, Ron.

I find it difficult to choose a favorite, since the puzzles were all so different. I enjoyed deciphering all of them! Cheers to everyone!

Suzer - I thought it was great and actually when I saw the title thought "I should have written that" - people should definitely educate themselves on the scams and I think you did a great service with it.

I really enjoyed all of the puzzles - there was only one puzzle "in" one puzzle that annoyed me because of the way it was "reworded" and I had made notes for comments I think on two - but have decided it wasn't worth posting and upsetting someone who otherwise had done an excellent job I can't even remember the puzzle without referring to my notes so see - it's not worth it

btw - I liked Crazy Horse too and will admit I googled on that one because I got Crazy Horse right off - but was sorely uninformed on it - very very interesting stuff!

I don't mind a bit that you Googled Crazy Horse. I'm glad you learned from it. Can you imagine starting such a huge project? I'm sure people scoffed at him just as people did Noah when he began to build the ark!

The sculptor had to know he would not complete the project, and possibly his children might not complete it. Talk about long-range planning.

I'm lost and confused. What is this top ten thing? Is this a paying-member only thing?

Faino - for most of the month of November the Word Puzzles were written by platinum members, anonymously, with the intent of being entered in a contest. All gold and platinum members were invited to vote on the puzzles to see which ones would get the highest average of votes. If you had been playing WPs you should have noticed they all started with a 'C' which indicated they were part of the contest.

Now that the contest is over, the Top Ten puzzles have been revealed and we are all trying to figure out who wrote which one.

I wrote Musical Maladies, which was an idea I had a while back and finally finished for the contest. Phrases included "peggy lees fever" and "the rolling stones 19th nervous breakdown" etc. I wanted to use the possessive in each phrase, but since we can't use punctuation, the extra S (or lack thereof) may have thrown some folks.

Didn't make top 10, but had a great time and will try to do more of a crowd-pleaser next time!
