Just don't stick any Mentos in it. Although I don't know if the result is the same as with Coke.

You know, Waco, Texas is the home of the invention of Dr. Pepper and of the Dr. Pepper Museum which is not far from the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. And the Baylor Bears.

That counts, Lisa.

BTW, I tried logging on to the Dr Pepper site a little after midnight and its server must have been flooded. Will try again later today. You need to put in the request for the coupon before midnight tonight.

If the website says you have to be an American, you are! Last time I checked, Canada, U.S. and Mexico were in North America.

Just think how bad things would be if he DIDN'T drink it.

And the prune thing is a vicious, evil, rumor put out by Coke.

Oh thank goodness.

When I saw this thread title, I thought we were going to have to cough up bail money for Pepperdoc.

I would love to be a Pepper ... but I have given up soft drinks. I haven't had one for more than 2 years. And Dr. Pepper was my absolute favorite. Trouble is, I shouldn't have the sugar in the drinks (There's a TON of sugar in each bottle/can of soft drinks) and my dr. doesn't like the idea of the artificial sweetners in the diet drinks. (sigh) So I drink herbal tea and water (reverse osmosis water). I know if I took one glass of Dr. Pepper I would be "hooked" again. But oh how I long for a cold glass of Dr. Pepper. Good thing I don't like alcohol!

By the way, in Nebraska we usually call soft drinks pop. (don't know why) What do you call them in your part of the world?

Canucks call it pop & I'm always getting stuck on the word soda when it appears in WPs. Think I'd learn but no

I'd like to be a pepper, too, but sadly I rarely drink soft drinks, too many calories

If you can't get access to the website (it's extremely busy) try this number: 1-888 DRPEPPER

This will probably make me sound like the Hick of the year, but in Central IL, it is very common to refer to soda pop as sodee (pronounced sew-dee). When you grow up with a specific word, it just sorta sticks with you for the rest of your life. I was able to sign up for my freebie coupon at midnight because I am already registered on that site. I enter bottle cap numbers quite often for prizes. I am surprised that the website has been so busy all day because this promotion wasn't even advertised. I found out about it from my daughter's friend. Hope some of you are getting through!

i haven't tried the phone, yet, but have been trying on and off at the web site. Server is unavailable. They did post saying that the offer would be extended until 6pm Monday the 24th.

We are sorry for any delays you have experienced in securing a coupon for a free Dr Pepper. While we had taken additional steps to meet the expected demand for our offer, the response has been greater than anticipated. To resolve this, we are increasing our server capacity and making a toll-free number available (1-888-DRPEPPER or 1-888-377-3773). In addition, as a result of the technical delays, we are extending the offer and will provide more information shortly.

Thanks for your patience and support

Everyone in America * has until 6 PM EST on Monday, November 24 to get a free 20 oz. Dr Pepper

Here is info on the Chinese Democracy release by Guns n Roses -- it took 14 years to make ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Democracy

Here is the Dr. Pepper part of it..
On March 26, 2008, various media outlets reported that Dr Pepper will offer a free can of Dr Pepper to everyone in America — excluding former Guns N' Roses guitarists Buckethead and Slash—if the band releases Chinese Democracy in 2008.[11][12] Later on March 26, Rose replied to Dr Pepper on Guns N' Roses' official website and spoke of his surprise at Dr Pepper's support. Rose also said he would share his Dr Pepper with Buckethead as "some of Buckethead's performances are on [Chinese Democracy]".[13] After it was announced that the album would be released in 2008, Dr Pepper confirmed that it would uphold its pledge.[14]

My favorite thing, which I think is hilarious...

On April 1, 2003, The Offspring announced that they would be naming their upcoming album Chinese Democrazy (You Snooze, You Lose). The Offspring's lead singer Dexter Holland elaborated, "You snooze, you lose. Axl ripped off my braids, I ripped off his album title."[40] However, it turned out to be an April Fools' joke and the Offspring album was eventually released under the title Splinter instead

In New Orleans, there are two names for soda.

The first is "col' drink" (spoken as if one two syllable word)
-or-
"Coke" (like "I'd like a strawberry coke" or "I want a Sprite Coke"

NO kidding.

Pretty much anywhere I've been in Texas, we call it Coke.

As in - wanna coke?
Sure.
What Kind?
Dr. Pepper (or Sprite or whatever)

We never add the word coke in the name of what we want to drink unless it's actually Coke.
