Every year during the Christmas season the supervisors in my office have a door decorating contest. The winner (voted on by the entire office) gets bragging rights until the next year's winner is chosen.

Last year I did a hearth, complete with stocking hanging and stuffed for each of my employees. The mantle stuck out about 8 inches and featured snow and a village scene.

Anybody have any ideas what I can do this year? My brain isn't functioning very well right now. your creative thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks, All!

How about doing a window looking in on a pleasant Christmas scene inside the "house."

Or make the door look like a present with 3-D tag and bow.

or, maybe, give it the reindeer stall treatment. i;ve seen that they have blow-up reindeer trophy-like heads when i was flipping through my local Sunday ads. I think that one store even had one that talked, and they weren't all that expensive.

Or maybe, go for a refrigerator door look - with a snowman chillin' inside.

Where do you live, Sheri? If you're in the north, what about a tropical island Christmas? A palm tree for the Christmas tree, coconut and pineapple garlands, Santa delivering in bermuda shorts, the reindeer with sun glasses, etc.
Or a prim Victorian parlor with simpering babies and angels and fluffy cats and King Charles Spaniels.

How about the Rockefeller ice rink, New York complete with fake ice and skaters and decorations. That would look good.

How about an exact replica of your office (like we'd be looking in with the door open) but all decked out in holiday silliness, like elves at your desks doing your work, and garlands and tinsel and red and green decor everywhere.

How about a Santa's shop with busy (and not so busy) elves and characters, but give them the actual faces of the people you work with (digital cameras are great for this...have fun)?

Love the tropical Santa, the inside out office.

How much space do you have in the hall? In other words, how much can this stick out? I have an idea but it is probably too bulky.

Wow - such great ideas. Thanks, everybody!

Bbear, last year it stuck out about 8 inches. There is plenty of room for people to walk around. My door is usually open so do tell your idea!

Thanks again!
