With ZERO tiles removed he happens to guess some guy I never heard of?? Seems a bit fishy......I agree if that was luck buy a lottery ticket!

Well, nothing fishy in my book. Just good strategy by that Von Stroheim fan

When I can, I guess "peppermint pattie factory" as the first answer in
a "Where The Heck Am I"- I'm sure I'll score the points some day.. Persistence!~

Perhaps Al, but I've never seen that name as the first guess before....had there been a sign of persistence previously the puzzle of "how it happened" would've been solved....

Hmmm- may be a faulty theory then.

But check the current Where THAI?

Felix, I've never seen that player's name before so what gives you the clue that this is an editor? I think you are reaching there.

This player has to be a psychic.

What a bunch of BS.

I guess the same damn thing everytime that a new puzzle comes up. I got one with a friggin white box. Whatever...do you people not go to football games either...cause you know they're talking about you in the huddle?

When Jon comes up and I get it without any tiles showing, gonna tell you all to kiss my posterior.

'fraid you lost me on that one, Barry, and I looked it up.

Is this something to do with the process of elimination? (i.e., everyone but silent film directors from Germany have appeared as a "Who," therefore, von Stoheim was a logical guess?)

This would be so much more fun if it was a conspiracy. It isn't. I have guessed EVS many times before. It was just a lucky, wiseass guess. I'm sorry there is not more drama to this.

And, I always buy lottery tickets. A math genius, I ain't.

Hey, Tom, welcome to Salty Dog. Now that you've met the gang, hope you come back often (maybe even help cook up a conspiracy or two to keep some of these folks guessing!).

By the way, now that you have guessed Erich von Stroheim, what name will you be putting up there first as a wild guess?

Every time I see that square with a buncha question marks in it, I guess it's The Riddler's Bathroom/Bedroom/Kitchen/Garage, whatever.

ONE of these days I WILL be right!!!

It is just possible that the WTHAI editors notice when someone consistently puts up an off-the-wall name as a guess with 0 tiles; said editor might just then think to actually put a picture of that person in the queue!

I know for a fact that is why there have been pictures of Elvis and Graceland.

Unfortunately, I don't recall ever seeing a picture of the Riddler's bathroom - further research is needed for that one.

(Just as an FYI, I did not put up that picture of Von Stroheim, but I do sometimes get ideas for Whos and Wheres from the quizzes I edit - so don't be surprised if some unusual person or place you mentioned in a quiz or Trivia Square gets a moment in the WTHAI spotlight!)

Oh yeah...It's a conspiracy.
I constantly guessed Elvis, and it was stolen on one tile; Graceland on one tile; and Aloha from Hawaii.
Three strikes, I'm out.

Fabulous, as if the WTHAI's werent difficult enough. Although, come to think of it, I do have a better shot at it, with steady random guess, I thinking I am digging this idea after all.

I just learned two interesting facts while researching the current WhoTHAI? They are:

1) Jack Lalanne never had a bushy moustache.
2) Jack Lalanne's wife's name is Elaine. Ouch.
