A friend of mine is very set that the way he makes stuffing is the proper way. My mother always just mixed some celery and an onion with breading...(and a tiny touch of evil) --- I have heard other says that everything from water chesnuts to chestnuts go into stuffing. Tell us your favorite and throw in a recipe if you have time!

I personally like the idea of the unpopped pocorn (I digress...another thread)...however,

We always mix 2/3 cornbread with 1/3 white bread (have to let bread dry out at least one day and then you douse the heck out of it with chicken broth when you bake it in the oven.) My dad did made this (sorry, no recipe) but swore by sage, onion, celery and crumbled German sausage. I could eat this with a little gravy and eliminate the rest of the traditional Thanksgiving meal and would be completely happy.

(we never put stuffing inside the turkey...somehow thought it gave the bird more dignity)
