This is the fourth successive day I've been faced with a TQOTD which I had no idea about; one was a two-way guess I got wrong, the other three I hit and hoped...wrong each time!

What's the current world record for incorrect TQOTDs in a row?

Join the crowd Barry!

I''ve had my "agony of defeats" [a few times in a row].
But I'm not claiming a world record [yet].

I think I am about 0 for 10 on the last Books & Authors questions.

I answer about 20% correctly

I had 6 TQOTD and 2 challenges waiting for me this morning so I thought I better give it a try . I lost BOTH challenges and only by the grace of luck did I get ONE of my 6 TQOTD right ....I'm so embarrassed and ashamed

I have you beat. After I answered something like 9 of my first 10 TQOTD questions correctly (to reach level 1.9), I missed the next SEVEN in a row. As a rookie to Sploofus, I was convinced that the final question before advancing to the next level was purposely more difficult. Since then, I haven't experienced any streaks like that, whether at the x.9 level or not.

I still scratch my head over that streak. I've noticed that I answer the TQOTD right about 75% of the time. That would suggest that there was about a 1/16000 chance of missing 7 in a row. Maybe I had rookie anxiety or something like that.

Dear Sir Mr Daveguth....
Does that explanation come in English????
Or do you only speak Confusemall????

Is that comment really necessary? I certainly wasn't try to confuse anyone. And I wasn't being abusive, or insulting to anyone. Gee, only my second contribution to a Sploofus chat forum, and I already found a "friend."

I'll make it easier on your life, and just stay away from these forums.

She's just pulling your leg, Dave, please post some more. The more the merrier

Several have mentioned that the recent ones seem to be xxxxxxxxxs. Maybe a new author?
I at least had the satisfaction, answering yet another wrongly today, to see that it has a 0% success rate - the first time I've seen that!

Dave, I'm kinda new also. I've made many posts and some responses are comical and some think they are comical. Don't let it get to you.
You post what you like and we'll support you. Don't take this website too seriously.

By the way I suck at TQTD.

Dave, I've experienced what you've described also. My "x.9" was level 27 or 28, can't recall which now. So it just doesn't happen to rookies! Glad to have you around!

Daveguth - I'm at level 27.1. Last week I was at level 27.1. Week before last I was on 26.9.
Sometimes I get 6 or 7 in a row; it is inevitable that I then go on a streak of zippo.
Don't matter; I'm completely out of tokens anyway.

I'm currently 1 for the last 5. Can't get over the hump for the next wager.

Dave- I think she was talking about your mathematical equations and how they were over her head, I don't think it was "intended" as a put down.....I have a 70 something % ranking in vocab, and remember getting like three right out 20 in a row, considering thats my wagering category, I felt like quitting at the time.

Jeannette, I have the same experience, it seems every time my gut instinct tells me to pick an answer and I talk myself into choosing a "better" answer, it turns out my gut instinct was right every time. Even on subjects I know nothing about. I guess our subconscious is smarter than we are!

Re: the 0% success rate... I had a question a couple of months ago where I had no idea what the answer was, I made a wild guess and got it correct -- and it told me the success rate was 100%! So I'm thinking this was a brand-new question, because I don't think it was common knowledge enough for all Sploofusers to have been getting it correct every time....

Daveguth, come back and post anytime!

I've mostly found that when someone gets that bent out of shape that quickly, there's something rotten in Denmark. (No offense to anyone in Denmark). It's either one of those guys who come in and move on, or someone who left and came back with a new name. It usually takes us a full week to offend someone that bad.

Just a quick comment because I received several nice personal messages, and because of the nice comments above: thanks for your encouragement. I definitely overreacted. I think I was just caught off guard because her odd response came so quickly after my post (and because I really have a lot of apprehension about chat forums in general).

My apologies for steering Barry's interesting topic in another direction.

That said, I doubt if I will now become a regular contributor. I guess chat forums are just not my cup of tea.

Don't be afraid to post, Dave. I pretty much offend the majority of folks the majority of the time but have developed a thick skin. In the past that was not the case-quit twice and rejoined-cut off my nose to spite my face. Have basically decided that I am just on the stupid side when answereing the daily question. Do HATE that message in red though that says it is GOOD NEWS if I answer the question correctly will advance to the next evel-compare it to the "kiss of death"-Linda

When I saw the thread I thought it was about the Detroit Lions.

Things are so bad there, I hear fans are starting to clamor for rehiring Millen.
