MOST POPULAR AND MOST RECENT QUIZZES

If I am remembering correctly back to 1.0 any quiz author could only have one quiz on the most recent list-that time believe it was something like 30. The most popular list was different-believe 25-and a single author could have as many as they could get there. I know many folks do not like to hear how 1.0 was superior to 2.0, but now quizzes seem to come and go and with the search feature not working difficult to keep track of them. Am aware that at the bottom of quizzes and Kerblunks you can access most recent and most popular for a given period. Just can remember checking both the "most recent" and "most popular" lists and hoping to see mine there. Just believ e much of the joy of quiz writing has been remooved-Linda

The joy is still there for me. In Old Sploofus it was necessary to wait a reasonable length of time to launcb a quiz when one of your own had gone live (approximately 29 quizzes of other people) or your original one would be displaced with the new one. Now there's no need to calculate the waiting period since 2 or more of your quizzes can appear on the Most Recent Quiz page. I much prefer the 2.0 approach.

Linda - I search for things all the time - works fine. I don't know which search feature you are talking about, but I use the "Advanced Options" up in the right corner to find a topic I might be interested in.

I also go to the Trivia Categories to find the latest quizzes in my preferred categories.

I don't much care what is new - I just like to see what food or science quizzes have appeared since I last looked. For that, the Trivia Categories is perfect.

Alice, how do you find specifcally EAs or quizzes by author? Sure much of this is due to my computer ignorance and also don't like losing small in favor of large. For me, something has been lost. Folks who never experienced the old system will find nothing to miss or realize things are broken-Linda

OR... find old posts by player name without going back pages and pages.

Maurlin, in response to you I can only speak from experience. I was never one to write long questions but because of my lack of computer skills still took me a bit to turn out a quiz. Foor a time that is about all I did in my free moments. Believe the original intent of 30 most recent was that when FITB quizzes were allowed, folks would pop them out like rabbits have babies pushing others off the front page. I think if I were still writing and took a very long time researching a quiz and composing the questions, I would be a bit upset if one author with not so thought-filled quizzes forced mine off by having 3 or more in that now shorter list. I submit that the majority of players do not go back into the categories and seek out lost quizzes simply because they are busy people. Linda

Maurlin, I use as an example your EA quiz on presidential pardons. I found it in 'Randomly Selected EAS"-no longer see it there and it has totally disappeared into obscurity on any kind of recent list. I took it and thought it an excellent quiz and well deserving of the award even though my score was lousy. Just have to believe you spent much time researching and writing it. I certainly am not knocking any other authors but your quiz is just one of many great ones that have gone off to oblivion because of some folks cranking easier oones out at an astounding rate. Don't know what can be done about it-certainly don't expect a return to 1.0 but just thought it as worthy of comment as M&M's-sorry Tuzilla-Linda

Hi Linda, You could put Maurlin's quizzes under a big boulder in a cave on another island and I would find them. Yours too. I'm always going to look for the people whose quizzes I enjoy first. The 500 others are a bonus. I'm not disagreeing with you but 2.0 is something most of us are still getting used to and I believe if you, me and others keep sending in support tickets to all the little glitches and our concerns we are helping to make this the best site it can be. One thing I really love is that Kerblunk, Editor Awards and Quizzes are all on seperate planets, not bunched all together. That's huge and a change for the better. Keep Smiling Linda K

No, I think you ask questions more than others but that's a good thing. And when you ask a question you deserve an answer. I've recently sent in a few queations on support tickets where "they" have been MORE than helpful to me. I stopped asking a long time ago when I got for a response - "Why don't you ask other Sploofussers", I thought that was less than helpful and somewhat rude. Lately I've gotten responses from some very nice people who go out of their way to help. May you have the same luck!

Linda - To find the quizzes by a particular author, just go to their profile page and on the right hand side is a clickable link that will get you an alphabetical list of their quizzes. I don't know of any way to bring up just EA quizzes - but there have been a couple of tournaments that were just EA quizzes, and it sounds like a series. So, maybe, watch the Tournament topics.

I always have about 10-20 quizzes in the my "build" file ready to go (drives my wife nuts), but I tend to submit them at 48 hour intervals so that they don't all appear at once on the "most recent quizzes" display. Just my own approach.

Haydn, that;'s what folks used to have to do as no one person could have more than one quiz on 30 most recent . If they launched a new one the bumped themselves off. It was really not possible to correctly time your releases as you were playing a guessing game with the editors's time but thought it fun to try. Just believed the system was most fair to all writers-Linda

Answered Alice's question via pm as one aspect applies only to me. The other part though you still have to locate a person's profile-easy if they are a frequent poster not so easy if they are not-before you can click on anything-Linda
