A friend of mine who I bowl with, son had a four wheeler accident and crushed his wrist and messed up his leg pretty bad. The doctors are going to have to build him a new wrist. The surgery is suppose to take place within the next couple of days. He's 17. I'd really like for all of my friends here to send up a prayer or two for him. I'd really appreciate it and I know the family would also. Thanks everyone.....

Nothing like a group of prayer warriors. Count me in. And while you guys are at it? My dad is in Laos right now. Any prayers for his safety would be greatly appreciated.

I went through a similar ordeal at 19. I was first pronounced dead, then, told I would never walk again. (Yes, in the same sentence ... just kidding). Anyway ... that was over 25 years ago, and I'm still alive and still walking. (Thank God). As long as there isn't severe nerve damage, he'll be fine ... in time.

As crazy as this may sound to some, my best advice is for him to thank God, and trust that God will restore his health. (I don't believe in "praying" or asking God for things, because I believe that he knows best, and whatever His will may be, I will accept it. I call it "blind faith").

If he can't find a reason to thank God, just remind him that he's still alive, can see, hear, smell, feel, and taste.

Also ... very important ... tell him not to freak out when he he feels like he's moving his wrist, but it's paralyzed. It's usually very temporary, but extremely scary.

As for you ... relax. He'll be fine. It's just going to be a while.
