I thought of responding in kind then decided to wait till eight.
Fun puzzle and much tougher than I thought it would be.

Would make a good subject for a quiz.....

But I imagine somebody has thought of that.

I thought this was a great WP idea.... however I think one of the phrases slipped past the proofreader, for reasons that I won't explain till later (it wasn't a misspelling), so keep on your toes!!

Wow.. I did horribly but really enjoyed the idea

Loved it! Made errors, but not the stupid kind. Lots of fun.

That was fun and challenging. One puzzle was a points monster but I enjoyed the concept.

It took a lot of thought to construct that puzzle. Nice job!

Bigdavy, I think I ran into the same problem you did. Otherwise, I liked the idea of this puzzle.

I loved it so much I want to do it all over again - do I get another go? I promise not to get them ALL right first time

I'll be honest and say I didn't care for the puzzle and I made a few lucky guesses. I don't understand why the author went through the difficulty of the one vowel thing.

Thanks for your work on the puzzle, but i really did not care for
it either. But it may have been because i have just come from my nephew funeral and my mind wasn't really on it. charlotte

I thought that it was an interesting puzzle. Tuff, but interesting.

my head hurts. This musta taken days to figure out. Maybe that's why editors are behind 170 quizzes??

Just kidding, Sploofizz. Excellent idea and a real letter buster.

Was trying to come up with a response with one vowel but I'm not that smart.

Loved it! Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to spend on it that I would have liked, but I thought this was a very clever puzzle, and I enjoyed deciphering. Thanks for a lot of fun, Sploofizz!

Lost half my moves/points on the first one (which still makes no sense to me), but the rest of the puzzle was COOL!

Loved it!

my first puzzle really must have been the one davy & pepper are talking about -

It would help to summarize a few of the previous comments:

a.) my head hurts
b.) diabolical
c.) didn't have time
d.) lost half my moves
e.) insane
f.) Arrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!

In a nutshell: BAILED.

Thanks for the effort though, these puzzles are a challenge to write.

With my exceptional spelling skills, I thought I'd be in trouble but I quite enjoyed it. If I'd have been a little cleverer on puzzle five I might have been a contender

Very interesting concept and excellent clues
Thank was kind of like Poker, and I
would have done better if I'd remembered
which vowels had already been "played"

Was the word in question "workout".?

Hey Row... wouldn't have mattered if you did remember.. 5 vowels (well 6, if you are a person who counts the "sometimes Y") and 10 puzzles... I received two "i's"

I forgot to put it down but mine had to do with nuns crushing curls - when I surely thought it would be brushing curls - and it frustrated me for the rest of my four because I went on with the concept of being skewed a bit and didn't do very well - much like playing poker to find the right vowel - but I have a huge headache - it's been one of those days I'd like to forget - so that probably didn't help either - I agree that it was a fun concept...

Hmm, brushing never even occurred to me. I was picturing the nuns squashing their hair under their wimples, or stopping young girls from wearing curly, vain hairstyles of the devil

And I did slip up and include 'workout' in one of the 'o' phrases, but it was caught and changed very early this morning.

Sorry if it tripped anyone up.

That 'splains it. Us Methodist girls were vain with uncrushed curls

Kaelin....sorry you had a bad day....hope you feel better soon

Sploofizz, maybe you are a woman....
but men like those silly young girls
with or without the curly hair....
especially if they're devilish !!!!

Univocalic quizzes do already exist, on Sploofus by the way.
I can confirm they are not easy to set.

I enjoyed the puzzle. Didn't do very well, but found it challenging. Clever idea for a puzzle.

You'd never realize how many synonyms have the same univocalic pattern. When the clue says "cry" and you have two e's in the middle and you enter "keen" rather than "weep", you're left muttering something about regular vowel movements ...

vowel or bowel ??
