"OC'S THAT'S AMORE NEW COUNTRY WORD PUZZLE "

Didn't get it...still don't...

Laughing all the way through its tortuous path!

When it's over, somebody please explain!

Thanks.

I liked it. One of the few I've got a fighting chance on.

These went completely over my head. I don't have the foggiest notion or clue.

Please explain after they're over!

very easy if you have all the answers before you do the puzzle as some obviously do

I don't always do very well on these Randy - but working as a bartender in a country bar paid off for me - I figured out 3 of the full clues - none one on of them - and 1/2 of the other and am very proud that I did better than usual!!

one puzzle missing a word; help note submitted.

The lead scores on this puzzle confirm everything chicky suggested.

It was pretty tough for the rest of us!

Barry and Keith, I'd like to know what you are suggesting.

I wouldn't take it to mean anything Pepper - the 3 I got righ off on the clues, I got with no letters although I had to think on them before coming up with the answers - the other two were a challenge and since there are 5 other puzzles I didn't get, I might have been able to do better had I had them - I was very happy with my score, going down down so don't imagine I'll stay where I am...but I'm still happy with my end result. Randy's explanation of her clues long ago definitely help me think differently

I'm like a bull dog with a chew toy...I just refuse to give up. Took me forever. Sometimes I think I'm a snail. Fun puzzle!

Barry please PM me with your correction. I just checked them once again & can't find anything wrong. There is one with a similar title without one word but it's not a country artist. I'm not surprised that some have done so well, it depends on what music you listen to. Except Slicko, who knows all & sees all

In the 1980s, I spent three years in Owensboro, Ky., editing local reporter Keith Lawrence's stories about musicians appearing at the "Big E" (which was the nickname of the Executive Inn hotel). Many country stars came through there, so their names were still hanging around in my brain..... Of course, I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday!

I'm pretty familiar with country artists, I've been to Nashville a few times, been to the Grand Ole Opry, voted for Carrie Underwood when she was on American Idol , and have many country CDs and country music downloaded on my iPOD. Sometimes I even watch the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights because I can get it on my TV cable system. So, sounding out the artists name wasn't difficult for me.

This is the third time that I've been able to get a puzzle in 5 moves. The others were Oldcougar's first country amore and the second was a rhyming puzzle featuring celebrities. Having Oldcougar post info earlier about her Amore puzzles and having practice doing them before helped.

OK I gotta admit it - yes I have more classical CDs than anything else but there are over 200 country CDs in the collection, too and Randy picked a couple of my favorite artists in this one.
And I do hope that any reference to having the answers was made in jest 'cause Bigdavy was one of the 5s along with Pepper and me - and I wouldn't mess with anyone named Bigdavy.

Yers this was just my attempt at a joke slicko....
maybe not very funny but 5 was impressive here (even given your past form).
Somehow I would have expected anyone who listened to country music not to be able to play WP well, but the classical music explains it.

Okay - so are we back digging here Barry?

"Somehow I would have expected anyone who listened to country music not to be able to play WP well, but the classical music explains it."

Because that comes across as someone who would listen to country music wouldn't be smart enough to do well - even though the puzzle was about country music & their artists - but that classical music is an intelligient man's music - so that explains it.

I will say that I listen to just about anything but rap or opera (except Bugs Bunny's The Barber of Seville) - and if you didn't intend it like that - I'm sorry for jumping the gun - but what it comes across as is an attempt to slide one by on those "dumb country folks" in the guise of humor - and I read your post 10 times before I posted this, with multiple inflections to see if I could make it sound better - and I couldn't.

But then, I'm just a dumb country Texas girl

Thanks for the complements & for those that don't like this series they are finished OK, maybe not quite finished. I got a few more which my editor has encouraged me to submit but I'm only going to do that if they get desperate. So for those that are sick of them better get writing a few of your own.

Barry you were right, I did miss the word you on the Shania Twain/Carlene Carter combo. My sincere apologies to all who were caused a problem by that.

Congrats on those 5's, Pepperdoc, Slicko & Bigdavey & to the others in the top 10 I did try to make the clues simpler by keeping them all phonetic & if I submit any more I'll do the same with them.

Wow, sometimes I just don't know how to respond to these posts.

(And BTW, Bigdavy, I suspect you and I may share part of similar background.)

Since I was totally clueless on the clues, I finally decided after the 2nd WP that the title meant some new foreign country that I just wasn't familiar with. Accordingly, I ignored the rest of the clues and just tried to figure out songs with the word LOVE in them. When some didn't look like any song titles I'd ever heard of I just tried to plug in letters that might match words I thought I saw. I'm obviously not up on new country music Although I did watch Carrie Underwood on Idol I remember voting for Bo Bice.

You know, Lorri, the US would be so much better off without us country music listenin' bubbas.

Maybe somebody could start "Bubba Sploofus" for all us lower IQ folks. You know, there ain't nobody smart in the south or who listens to country music.

I can actually hear the sarcasm dripping.

OK OK.... I'm sorry!
Slicko doesn't cheat (much) and neither does anyone else.

I wish I understood country music; I respect the rights of anyone to listen to it... I was JOKING.

I'm just about to say three penances and two Ave Marias. No more puerile humor today.

Barry
